Kurosaki Ichigo is a 15 year old boy that has an ability to see ghosts/spirits. Because of his ability, he is able to meet a female death god (a.k.a Shinigami) named Kuchiki Rukia. To save his family and friends from unwanted soul-eating spirits (Hollows), Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo. As Rukia takes on a human shell, together they solve mysteries involving spirits and hollows until from the spirit world comes 2 other shinigamis explaining that it is illegal to transfer Shinigami powers to humans and Rukia exceeded the time limit to stay in the human world. After they sentence her death for breaking the laws, Ichigo snaps and swears to everyone he will retrieve Rukia by breaking into the spirit world. [ANN]

We already know that Hollow Ichigo gets stronger as Ichigo gets stronger, so I would say that Hollow Ichigo has become an Arrancar. Ichigo's first mask equals him to an Arrancar and the thing he turned into against Ulquiorra was his resurrection. Though Ichigo can't completely control this form yet, he did show signs that he is at least partially in control. He went after Ulquiorra instead of the nearest person (which was Orihime and Uryuu who he "blew" away from the battle area rather crudely, but they were uninjured and I considered this to be a conscious effort to remove them from harm's way.) So anyway, Ichigo's new transformation is the resurrection of his hollow form, which has become an arrancar in strength.

I thought Ichigo's transformation was Ichigo moving up to Vasto Lorde class. It never crossed my mind that that could be his Hollow form's "Resurrection" state but that makes sense. One thing though - it seems like in order for him to transform into that state a hole has to be blown into his chest. I wouldn't think it'd be possible for him to take that form otherwise, so it was really Ulquiorra's fault he turned into that thing, since Ulqui likes making holes in ppl's chests so much...

Moreover he would not be able transform well. I am not sure but something!!!
