I see that Im the only one for the death penalty, but thats ok, I tend to be on the opposite side of the totem pole than most people are on many subjects anyway.
I just dont agree that murders ought to live. I know that it is extremely hard in the US to give someone the death penalty, cause they can just appeal it forever and it will take many years to actually get that person actually put to death, even if the evidence was beyond the shadow of a doubt, it would still take years for it to happen. However, I just dont like the thought of them even being alive.
"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Maybe so, but by letting them live, we are inserting our values on them... If they didnt think that killing was wrong, then they wouldnt have killed. They obviously dont agree that every life is important, or they wouldnt have killed, therefore, by us leaving them alive, we are inserting our values on them. That to me is the same as pressing religion on someone. I hate those who press their religion on others, telling me once about your values or your religion and its ok, but if I dont ask about them again, I dont want to hear about them. I think its what they deserve for killing another life. |
