I wouldn't mind teaching you how to burn disks! I assume that your computer has a DVD burner installed.
When you burn a DVD you have to decide if you want to burn a
data DVD or a
movie DVD. There are large differences between the two.
A Data DVD will physically make a copy of the individual files and burn them to the DVD. It would be like copying and pasting files from one place on your computer to another.
A Movie DVD is a DVD that is burnt so it will play in your home's DVD players. This type of DVD does
not contain the physical files like the Data DVD does. Movie DVDs can be made "sectional" or restricted if you wish to do so.
Today, burning disks is as easy as dragging and dropping. If you want to burn a data DVD (or
any data disk for that matter) pick up CDBurnerXP or DeepBurner
http://cdburnerxp.se/
or
http://www.deepburner.com/?r=product...&prr=provsfree
By using the above programs, burning disks is as simple as dragging and dropping your files into the "burn" area. The sites have information on how to do that for each program.
If you want to burn a movie DVD, you
may have to pay for software. I have the Nero suite myself, and I use that for my easy movie burning.

I find that it is worth every penny. I don't have any free pieces of software that comes to mind that can burn movie DVDs......
Hope that helps you, mate!
