Hurin together with the scouts lord Celebron and lady Galadriel had given her leave to take with him were apprehensive as they approached the western borders of their land.
News were not as favourable as it was once.
The orcs disturbingly enough had been under one banner. The Orcish tribe seemed to have reached some kind of a covenant. They had been long diverted and been fighting each other ever since they discovered the use of swords and other sharp things.
A distress was sent three days ago from a nearby tribe near the main city of Keitera. Keitera however is no longer a human settlement but a nesting ground for the brutes that so terrorized the land.
The undead thankfully enough had been laying low, scouts and the elves espioange networking had suggested that the undead had suffered a great loss from an all out war against the orcs.
and Yes it has always been the orcs... these days. The northern settlement of Daidan is seige so to speak brave and stout captain Beleg the Tall answered the aid, but tidings are not favorable at all..
the Orcs seemed to be organized. The stereotyped brutes have somehow developed a strategic devices and plans. Too smart to be made by orcish hands he supposed.
Frenor signalled a halt as they reached a visible view on the city. They were still hidden with their elvish mantles and cloaks, the darkness of the night had provided them safety too.
"This is madness..." one of the scouts claimed.
Hurin looked at the direction and then, indeed he agreed... it was indeed madness. He saw men stout and brave men they were impaled in the courtyard, hanged and some burned. He was sure he saw someone impaled still twitched, and growing up with the elves Hurin developed a keen sense of hearing that equal to elves not only his hearing but all his senses.
"Devilry!" claimed another one.
Hurin realized something weird, the city seemd empty as if it were unoccupied. The air itself emitted a malicious stench in it that made him feel uneasy.
He felt something moved he looked but there wasnt any.
Then one of their rear guards said "Hurin, behind you..."
Hurin turned and saw a man. Menacingly looking at them. He was alone but his prescence was hostile and evil. When the moon shone on the man Hurin saw his mask. It covered his face but his eyes... were clear and threatening. He felt his knees stirred and weakened.
