Yo, mena!

Yes external drives are very worth it. I have my personal setups to include two enclosed externals and a a hot swap swap case for internal drives. This setup gives me a total of 7 external drives, since I can even swap out my boot drives on my desktop.

I have my drives even more sepecialized thean t3ku. with one drive for A-L anime, one for M-Z. One for movies, one for live action TV, one music, one for backing up pics and programs. and one for my XP Pro install, and one for my Vista install.

While this setup is more than the average user needs it gives you an idea of can be done. And btw, this setup cost less than $500, not including the Windows installs. Although this can be attributted to the fact none of the drives are over 250gs, with the smallest being 80.

Consider you options carefully. What do want to store on the external drive? Will the purchased drive be future proof? Do keep your anime after you've watched it or delete it? Etc.

Since I tend to rip alot of movies and I keep the anime I download I set up a system that will be highly expandable until the day we will no longer use hard drives.

The best advice that can be said is to buy the largest one you can afford on your budget. I've yet to meet someone who said that they wish they had less space for storage!

Good luck and enjoy!
