Continuing on:
Caster: She is the legendary Medea, that mythological witch alternatively revered and reviled. According to the Greek mythology, she was the daughter of the King of Colchis, granddaughter to the sun god Helios, niece of Circe, and wife of Jason. However, Jason betrayed her when the King of Corinth offered him his daughter. To take revenge, Medea became an enchantress.
The story of Jason and Medea is very like the Greek classics, none of which have happy endings. However, there are some books which give a completely different ending to the tale, thus leading many to believe there were two Medeas. However, the fact that both were similar is undisputed.
Medea's effect on later history and literature has been immense. Genres of music as diverse as orchesral and heavy metal have used the motif of Medea's predicament in their songs. Similarly, movies have also depicted her, though mostly as a side character in movies about Jason and his famous Argonauts. In fact, it was Medea's revenge the poet was thinking of when he said: "Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned."
