Default Ai Yori Aoshi Review!

Ai Yori Aoshi

Genre(s)
Romance/Love
Slice of Life
School Life
Harem

Summary
Kaoru Hanabishi, a college student who lives alone, met a beautiful but bewildered girl dressed in kimono at train station. He volunteered to guide her way to the address she was looking for, which looked like in his neighborhood but turned out to be an empty lot. Not knowing what to do next, Kaoru invited the devastated girl to his apartment and asked for additional clue -- a photo with two children whom Kauru immediately identified as himself and Aoi Sakuraba, his childhood friend. It turned out that the girl in front of him is Aoi Sakuraba herself, his betrothed fiancée who came all the way to Tokyo to marry him. Her revelation was not only surprising but also reminded the deepest part of Kaoru's memory for why he left the Hanabishi family in the first.

Personal Opinions

I've heard great things about this anime from various people. Ai Yori Aoshi was supposedly the best romance anime out there, the more "serious" romance anime, etcetera. Having that in mind, I had great expectations in mind for this anime, but watching it, I was fairly dissapointed. Honestly, this anime was supposed to be about Kaoru and Aoi, but 80% of the episodes were about Kaoru and his relationship with other women. Also, this anime seemed to unreal to me, a bit mushy at times. 70% of the conversations with Kaoru and Aoi were them calling each other's names. On top of all that, the ending didn't wrap anything up. It just... ended.

My Recommendation
If you want to watch an anime with romance, harem, and just anything to pass the time, you might want to give Ai Yori Aoshi a go. If you're in it for the comedy, don't bother, you won't even crack a smile.

My Rating
7/10
