Well, after ep 2, ep 3 repeats all of what happened it ep 2; but at the end you find out its because they are stuck in an infinite time loop which makes it interesting.
They reach the date where time gets reset, being unable to prevent the time loop, so Kyon says 'I guess I'll just leave it to the "me" then' and then the episode ends. So, I thought they would resolve the time issue in the next episode.
Episode 4 started the same as ep 3, repeating the summer activities and Kyon having de Ja vu, then it had the bit where they all realized it was a time loop (again) like in ep 3, but they couldn't do anything to stop it (again) and the episode ended with Kyon saying 'I guess I'll leave it to the "me" then'...(again)
So basically, it was like watching a re-run of episode 3 which, to be honest, after watching the same events 3 times gets very boring.
