For those who want to hack their psp and get custom firmware on it... CFW will allow the psp to excel to it's full potential, unlike offical firmware were it is limited. A cfw can do everthingy an ofw can do but more. For example: Send textmassage wifi internet, watch youtube, run game cheats, play games such as snes, sega, gb-gba, ds, n64, ps1... or play psp iso/cso and etc...

All psp can be hack, doesnt matter if it is a fat or slim... with a Pandora batter (PB) and a magic memory stick (MMS).

The pandora battery can be make or buy. To make one you can either hardmod or softmod. For those who doesnt want to take risk can just buy one, Datel Battery are sold for like $20. Softmoding a pandora battery required a cfw psp and a program call U.P.M.S. Anyway I'll tell how to make a hardmod pandora battery, but first for those who dont have an extra battery or a card reader device should do #5 first then jump back to #1:
1) REQUIRE for fat psp only, check the battery serial (under the make in china phrase) if the serial started with a "c" that can't be make into a pandora batter, it have to be a "2" to make a pandora battery. REQUIRE for slim battery have to start with "3" or one that made in china, lately the newer slim battery that made in japan can't me pandoralize.
2) You need a Razor blade and a flate nose screwdriver, use the razor blade to cut the line where the top and battom shell are mounted togetter. Gently slide the razor back and forth, and go all around to get it loose. DO NOT put too much pressure on when cutting, if you puncture the cell, it can explode (pop goes those fingers) or flare up (burn your fingers and might cause a house fire). Now once you cut all the way around and got it kinda loose, use the screw driver to pop the top shell and bottom shell loose.
3) You see a mother board on the battery. For Slim battery, you'll see a gold line near the labled (IC04 or C04), all you have to do and use a pin or the razor to break the link by scratching it... dont over do it, just enought to break the line, anyways when you are done with getting cfw on your psp, you can use a pancil to trace the line back and your battery will turn back to normal. For fat psp, look for the connecter labled (ICO4 or CO4). Take your needle or razor and CAREFULLY remove the 5th pin (the pins start from the bottom left and up. So pin 5 should be the bottom one on the right.....depending on how you hold your battery.)
4) Now put the open battery back into the shell and tape it back together.
5) To make a MMS... this only for if you have window xp. Make sure you have a usb cable to connect your computer and your psp or a memory card reader. For XP users, you can download a program call catb50 or total newbie easy installer, these programs will turn your memory stick into a MMS. All you have to do is install and follow the instructions.
FOR Vista User:
just download this big file called The Filez You Need.7z http://www.pspmod.com/forums/downloa...?do=file&id=22 (http://www.pspmod.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=22)
After you have the downloaded files we will make a magic memory stick!-
extract the The File You Need.7z to your desktop c u can use winrar
- highlight and copy MSINST - open My Computer
-(note do not do anything to mspformat leave it alone
- Left Click the C: drive once (Note: if you double click, it will open C: drive)
- Now RIGHT Click on C: drive and PASTE
- format your memory stick thru your psp (Settings>System Settings>Format Memory Stick)
- once that is done, enable USB mode
- make note of your drive letter (usually E: or F)
- open up command propmt (click Start, select Run, type in cmd and hit enter_
-u have to run as adminastor
-u type in format X: (x standing for ur drive)
- Type in the following command "CD C:\" (note: with-out quote mark) HIT enter
- - hit Y, then enter
- it should say "Drive succesfully formatted, and partition moved."
- disable USB mode, and take out the memory stick
- now re-insert the memory stick, and re-enable USB mode
- Now go back to the Desktop where you extracted the folder "The File You Need"
- double click it
- open the Despertar v3 folder, and copy its contents to your psp (just the contents, not the actual folder)
- now go back to your prompt window
- type the following command "msinst\msinst.exe X msinst\msipl.bin" (again where X=psp drive letter) note: NO quotation
- press Y and hit enter
- The last line should say " Write MS BOOT CODE "
- then type exit and enter
* you now have a magic memory stick!

6) Once you got your MMS make, insert the mms into the ms slot and then insert the pandora battery... which will bring you to a menu, then all you have to do is press the buttom to install cfw...

For those that are having problem making a magic memory stick... i suggest downloading "Rain's Simple MMS maker v1.0", it can run on vista, xp and 2000-03
(http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1544)

For those who have offical firmware 3.50 and under. And dont want to make a pandora battery and magic memory stick can use Lumines Greatest Hit and Lumine exploit(can be download at psp-hacks.com) to downgrade to 1.50 ofw. then upgarde 3.52m33 v4 -> 3.71m33 and then to the latest custom firmware.

Youtube should have alot of video on how to hardmod a pandora battery and make a mms. For those who have more questions or dont get it and need morehelps can always visit psp-hacks.com or pspmod.com, their forum will have people that will help/guide you...

To find homebrew apps, you can always go to dl.qj.net or psp-hacks.com

For any of you that have questions that the links that i post doesnt answer, feel free to post it here.... i'll try to answer as best as i can.

I run a psp site... I wouldn't suggest doing this ROFL if you can't find someone with CFW and this is your last resort.. You can live without custom firmware so please.. Don't do this.. just don't.. hahahaha

you could get someone to softmod you a pandora battery and magic memory stick with a cfw psp... but this is for those who dont have access to a cfw psp or a risk taker... anyways once you made a pb and mms and you got no use for it anymore.... you can always ebay it.... that's what i did... got $50 dallor off of it... i bought a battery for like $15dallor and a 125mb ms for $5, turn those into mms and pb and made like $30 dallor profit when selling it.

Ive got my PSP chipped by my friend and he used a piece of software or custom firmware that was on his memory stick and battery to do it. when he put his memory stick and battery in with the Custom firmware on my psp, theres this program which allows you to copy games onto your PSP and it runs on my PSP automatically. It takes around 5 minutes to run. After the software has been installed, i put back in my memory stick and battery as well as now that Ive got my PSP modchiped, I can just download games off the internet for free now and plus, my friend chipped my PSP for free which was good too.

I download my games off www.insaneisos.net (http://www.insaneisos.net) for those who do have a chipped/modded PSP.

ok your friend use his magic memory stick (mms) and pandora battery(pb) on your psp.... he either made it softmod or hardmod, or just bought it off someone.... anyway.... the program that you put in the root of your memory stick that will rip psp umd games is call "psp filer". Psp filer will rip psp umd games into your momery stick. But there is another way to rip psp games too... go to recovery mod, click toggle usb (stating that you have a usb cable connecting the psp and the computer), then just copy it into your computer. Anyways most psp iso/cso games can pretty much be found on the net, just by googling, but it will only run with a cfw psp.
