Windows Mobile: Outlook Needed?

Okay, so I received my (used) latest phone as a birthday present, and it runs on WinMo. After getting home from a vacation, i upgraded the software to Windows Mobile 6.1, but it erased all my contacts; turns out i needed to save them to outlook. However, i do not possess the software, and don't feel like shelling out 100+ bucks. Does anyone have a way around this???

I don't think there's a way around it unless you already own Office Suite. Well, there is, but that's a tad... illegal? It's one way though.

It should work with outlook express as well, I think outlook express was renamed in windows vista/7 to windows mail or something like that but i'm not sure.
