Twilight: The Movie

So, I am sure anyone who reads the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, knows already that Twilight the movie is in production and is scheduled to be released December 12th 2008 (one day before my birthday...yay!).

I am halfway excited for it to come out...mostly because they have the actor who played Cedric Diggory from Harry Potter playing Edward on Twilight, and to me he just doesn't seem like Edward. Also, I am not too pleased with who they chose for Bella, which would be Kristen Stewart. I liked her in other movies, but I am not sure if I am going to like her as Bella. I really like who they chose to play Alice, though.

I have high expectations for the movie because the books are so good. I try not to, because bringing a book to life on the screen, I am sure, is extremely hard and stressful because you have all these fans of the book wanting this and that. It's also very touchy, at least to me anyway, when you have famous actors playing vampires.

I think alot of the time, they are only chosen to play a certain role just because they are famous. I think the director looks past making the actor match the character they are going to be playing and instead just goes for what the majority of people are going to like and come to see in the theaters.
Just my opinion, though.

So what do the rest of you Twilight fans think, or even the people who have heard of the movie but never read the books..do you think it will be a good movie..or no? Any actors that you wanted to play a certain character?

OMG I am sooo looking forward to the movie! and the new book, Breaking Dawn.
Robert Pattinson makes a great Edward, and a new scene was posted on YouTube today from the movie. It looks spectacular so far, I really can't wait!
Do you have a fave character in the books?

Yeah I am super hyped about Breaking Dawn..I have all three books and that will complete my collection :]

Actually...I honestly can't pick a favorite character...it's just so hard because all the characters are so memorable and exciting.
There's only one character I can't stand and that's Charlie...Bella's father.
He gets in the way of everything! Including Bella becoming a vampire...which I want to happen soooo bad!

This movie looks pretty good but is it going to be a sappy vampire movie? If it is then I dont really want to watch it. If its hardcore action like blade then im down.

i want breaking Dawn already.
it comes out a week after the X-files movie in australia.hate the X-files, but its a easy date to remember.

im hyped about the movie. i agree with your dislike of the actor for Bella.
she is not right for the role. a person new to the scene of acting would have been better.

i cant wait for Midnight sun either. its Twilight, told from Edwards perspective. the first chapter is awsome.

Yeah I also cannot wait for midnight sun..and I also read the first which was one of the best things ever.
I live in Tennessee, so I am hoping that they will actually have it in the theaters somewhere close to me....they are stupid about crap like that....for example...when Sweeney Todd came out...the theater closest to where I live waited forever then finally had it yet they only kept it in theaters like a week or 2. I was so pissed because I had to wait to rent it before I actually got to see it.
It better not happen that way with Twilight...

I started reading the books after everyone was cast, so I'm pretty happy with who's playing who. Except for Rosalie.. I can't imagine Nikki Reed as her!
