its somehow misleading if you read the reviews and comments forehand before going and indulging yourself in the book though lol some scenes are a bit suggestive or rather inclined to some readers that Scout and Dill have some well more than a brotherly love... I do not see it however... its just my crazy fanatic classmates who are into men x men relationships ;D

It was a while back since I read it but it was a good book. I hated the part at the trial where it was so obvious to who the actual "criminal" was but they still found the black man guilty.

It has been a while since I have read this book, but I still remember the story. One of the scenes that sticks in my head is when Scout's father is standing outside of the court house at night when the Pro-Slavery townspeople show up to try and harm him. There were so many underlying emotions and un-spoken words in that one scene. And of course, the trial itself. "I felt pitty on her".

yeah the injustice there and the discriminatory verdict of judges and authority were quite apparent in the book
@teeny lol too late..... seen it and I think I wasted my time well they had its moments...

@Black: Yes, I loved that scene too. I like the beautiful twist that Scout accidentally saved the day with innocence and sincerity. I also love how Jem looks at Atticus with Atticus' own determination and strong will.

i as well had to read it for my novel calss, but i looooved it, the characters, the plot, narration is amazing. i remember i hadnt read a book in 5 months cause the last one i read was so gross, but then mockingbird made me interested in books again (my salvation :D)
it pictures life in that time so beautifully u can actually live it.

I read it this past week for my English 1 class and I must say it was a great book. Atticus's morals were outstanding, the way he handled his business like with the Tom Robinson case was commendable. But to see an innocent man such as Tom Robinson convicted guilty of rape was just heartbreaking. I don't think Scout and Dill's relationship was all that detailed though, but it was funny when he said he wanted to marry her.
