I have read a lot of books but this series (which i need to reread and then finish!) is one that just caught me and well i knew what it was when i saw a magazine that stated that they where making a role-playing game for it....but thats beside the point....well to some it all up, has anyone else read any of the books from this series?

Heck yeah. In my opinion these are the greatest fantasy books of all time. There are so many interesting characters- and Martin has no problem whatsoever weaving them all together into a fantastic, and almost always unforgiving world.

I can't wait for A Dance of Dragons to hopefully come out in September.

I read the first 2 or 3 novels years ago while waiting for the next Wheel of Time book to come out. A Song of Ice & Fire is excellent, but I decided to stop reading until the series was finished so I wouldn't be in agony waiting for the next book. It hooked me as much as Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time did. It's so difficult to find really compelling fantasy series like Song of Ice & Fire.

I'm reading this series right now, actually. I'm about half-way done with Storm of Swords, and it's definitely my favourite series of all time.

I also love the Wheel of Time series, but I stopped reading those in the middle of Path of Daggers and couldn't remember some stuff, so I plan on going back to those after Song of Fire and Ice

=D

It's an amazing series.

George R.R. Martin is a genius. He doesn't follow the stereotypical guidelines to a Fantasy series...and he's not afraid to kill off characters.

The other thing that I love about it is....each chapter switches off to a different character's point-of-view...so it's hard to tell who the "bad guys" are and who the "good guys" are.

I HIGHLY recommend it

I've been recommended this series A LOT. George R.R. Martin seems like a great author. I will get to these novels later though. Reading FMP atm
