I would probably have to say Victoria Holt. She's not as well known nowadays, but she wrote some of the best romantic-suspense novels out there.

Cate Tienan author of the series Wicca loved the whole series and sad 2 c it end but it did end in a good way, i have read the series many times and neva get tired of it
