I know,I know....Its a Pain.But you need to swap
Disc 1 to Disc 2. You see the Disc Label "2"?
(grumble)Snake:No.
Otacon:Huh? Oh, Wait! We're on PS3 System! It's a Blu-ray Disc. Dual-layered,too-no need to swap.
Snake:Damm it. Otacon, get a grip!
Otacon:(heh!) Yeah, what an age we live in, huh, Snake? Wonder what they'll think of next!

Yeah I heard abot this hack but its too risky....
If you fail updating your PSP would "brick" why brick because if you made a mistake in updating your PSP. It will be useless as a brick.

It depends on your software firm ware whats on the psp when you bought it or how much you have update it, the more older version you have the easyer to hack it. Getting your psp modded is the best thing you can do. Imagine you can download any games you want whats out for psp US/EU even Jap games. Oh and you can pretty much play any Playstation 1 game as well.

There is only just one problem with that right now. I have a modded psp too, but right now we're stuck unable to play any games that are out right now, why? Because they all need Firmware version 5.55 or 6.00. Firmware 5.55 is only available on UMD discs whereas the 6.00 is downloadable through psn.

Now the two best teams for Custom Firmwares are Team GEN and Dark_Alex and his M33 CFW. While Dark_Alex has issued a statement that he would not release anything unless it came with a big change, then we're stuck without M33 CFW. And Team GEN, while they claim to have decrypted OFW 6.00, there are still no plans for releasing a CFW. So right now, many who don't have a Pandora battery which is what you need to play downloaded isos of umds, have been updating to the OFW to be able to play newer games like the new Naruto, Persona, Motorstorm, Dirt 2 and even Gran Turismo Portable.

And that's what we're going to have to do because the whole homebrew scene seems stuck atm. Sony finally did something to slow it down.

you can now play the latest PSP game on your CFW psp.. just fine..

all you need to do it patch them with a game decrypter ... and it should work.. doesn't matter if it's GenA or GenB or m33.. etc.. etc..

as for bricking your PSP.. there are programs to unbrick it.. and also.. pandora battery.. but now aday.. they can do it with no pandora battery.. or able to turn a battery into a pandora battery with software alone.. and not those soft (using another psp with CFW already on) or hard mod (opening up the batterY method..
