Adobe Illustrator cs3 installation problem

Well i got adobe illustrator cs3 from a friend and tryied to install several times but "no go" :( ... it wont install
the installation goes threw the "license agreement" then when it gets to choosing the "instal directory" it just stop responding ...
(works fine on other pc,tried it ;) )
any1 know what the prob is ?...i'm guessing something to do with my own pc...but what ?
