Well I have used Photoshop 5.0 , Photoshop 5.5 , Photoshop 6.0 , Photoshop 7.0 then the latest Photoshop CS1 , Photoshop CS2 , Photoshop CS4 (portable) from those the most easiest and reliable is obviously the latest PS CS4 , it is much much more easier to use and also I learned some new tricks that I did not knew from CS4. well some say CS3 is still better , but since I have never used it , I cant comment. IMO CS4 is the best , ![]() from a web site that host software try the CS4 portable verssion ( its 70MB full size of the pack, no installation needed), then if it suits you buy the CS4 Full pack from adobe website or any store near you. ^^

I had elements which was okay, and if you don't have enough money if you don't have enough money to buy a newer version than buy one of those versions. Anyways, I use CS3, there is a lot of tools and it takes a while a learning them, the learning curve for photoshop is about 6 months to get average unless you spend over 4 hours on it a day.

Also photoshop adds new tools and options and engines in every new version, so I say if you have the money and the system requirements always go for the latest PS. Quote:

Next will be CS3 if not jump down straight to CS1 because , CS2 eats too many system resources and make your PC/Lap slow down , lol so its like this , IMO ( others can/might think differently tho ) CS4 < CS3 < CS1 < CS2 < 7.0 < 6.0 < 5.5 < 5.0 PS: I used CS4 portable in a Pentium 3 . 1.33GHz , 256RAM computer with some few stuck moments but worked fine for me, lol

CS3 froze a few seconds every time I changed brush/color when I was doing an art-project - so I went back to CS2 again but it really depends on what you need it for if it's for photos, then I recommend CS2 or newer (not CS) while if it's for coloring and/or what-not, then any version will do system requirements can be seen on this page http://www.hotsoftshop.com/class.asp...dobe+Photoshop | |

@ mlavx - thanks for that info , well still my PC is older , xD as I said I have never tried CS3 , so I dont know about it for sure , but many gfx people love it. since your lap is better than the PC I use, why not give CS4 portable version a try , it is just 70MB(including everything, no installation needed ) :D

I heard (well.. read, actually), that CS4 portable has a new user interface and I'm not too happy about that since I've gotten pretty much used to CS2 interface but then again.. I could always just try it ;) |
