I bought one Western digital it works very nice for me 500 gigabyte space so there is no problem with the storage

An external hard drive can be an amazing lifesaver. I have 2 myself, and they are a dream. It is well worth the expense.

Well, its not a bad idea...but make sure you buy one that will last. I've had one of the most unpleasant experiences with external hard disks. My 500g disk with all my back up fell from my desk and when I plugged it in, I only had 27g of disc space and all my back up lost! Am still thinking twice before buying another external hard disk.

Buy an external HDD now :D It's worth it, and they're really cheap :) I have a 500 GB Western Digital disk....and now I only have 127 gb left =/(decreasing rapidly). The lesson is: if you can get it in a bigger size, then do it! ^^

I will buy a 1 TB disk later on, and probably a 2 TB in the near future as a backup of the backups(lol). I will however wait until the 2TB disks gets cheaper. They're really expensive right now ~_~

An external HDD is definately worth it. I have one 500gb which I store all my anime and music on. But, I do have my stuff backed up on my little brother's 500gb external HDD as well.

Most new hard drives have tech that locks the discs when it senses a fall....but, lol, doesnt always work.

You can get a 500 gb external for around $100-$150.00 easily. Dont buy anything less than 500 gb

I wouldnt say less than 500gb.
Depends on what you want, hard drives are getting smaller, but a 500g is still a desktop standing external, while you can get a 300g in a mini drive that you can carry around with you.

I would not drop below 300g, period, although things are still getting smaller, a complete series like Naruto still takes up gigs in the double digits :\

I looked at externals today at office depot, 1T hard drive was 3-400 dollars depending on brand and a 2T was about 5-600. Although a 2T is two 1T put together, the 1T were two 500s, but now it's one drive.
The 2T is a good deal for the size, but it is rather large because it's two drives stuck side by side.
