External HD's are really worth it...I would suggest it actually...

Anything from a 250 GB to 1 TB external HD should be perfect...I have a couple externals and back up everything I have along with any new stuff I get....it's definetly worth it if your computer ever decides to just crash on you XD...

And if you really wanna be safe...make a back up of the back up XD... I do it sometimes.

It's totally worth it, im planning on getting one JUST for my anime files, since i hate having to delete old chapters when i'm downloading new ones! x.X!

Well a RAID system would be yur best bet for a great backup solution if you have the know how or if you know someone that does.

RAID does offer a virtually limitless storage option, but a RAID array is not always reliable. On some raid setups (not 5 or some 0+1), if one drive fails, the entire array is useless. Plus, an external drive gives the option to travel with you data. Other than that, RAID is awesome. ;-)

Well I've been using seagate for almost 5 yrs now and i have no problem with them, i have 60 gb and 500 gb and im planning to buy new 750 gb this june. The new seagate i think has no on/off button just power supply and usb cable which is pretty much cool and working fine. i stored all my anime hentai and pretty much evrything
