So I know a good amount about computers, but one area I never dealt with is DVD's. I never had any need to. However, with my current amount of anime I am looking to start burning some of them onto dvd's. Does anyone have any knowledge/good programs of how to burn anime's to dvd's? Is it possible to keep them separated as well, like 4-5 episodes per disc and actually be able to pick an episode? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

You may try aimersoft dvd creator, I always use it to convert and burn DVD, my friends recommend it to me, it's not free, but it works nice for me, I think it well worth the money http://www.aimersoft.com/dvd-creator.html |

Data DVD I just store the AVI or MKV format episodes in just 1 DVD and it can be played in the computer but cannot be played in the DVD player except if your DVD player can read divx or xvid (these are the newer models of DVD players) ... this is fairly easy because if your laptop or computer has a DVD burner, it has a software that is bundled with it, you can use it already to create the data DVD disc ... for my laptop, I have nero StartSmart which is fairly easy to use ... and I can save on space because a 12 - 13 episode anime series is only about 2.3 gig and sometimes I can put 2 anime series in one data DVD disc or if you have a longer anime series example Ouran Host Club was 26 episodes, I had to compress it first to zip file before I was able to save into 1 DVD disc (I'm talking about the 4.7 GB DVD disc ok?) 2. DVD format this one is playable in any DVD player ... in my case I got a portable DVD player that I bring with me ... this one I had some problems because I need to find a software to convert my AVIs to DVD ... and right now I'm using ConvertXtoDVD which is not a free software ... I bought mine online (but you may be able to find warez of this or similar software such as this) ... the thing is, I cannot convert the video if the file is MKV, the subtitles are lost ... I'm not sure if I can convert RM/RMVB because I haven't tried it yet ... I can only convert AVI files ... I can put the entire series in one DVD but I found out that the more episodes you try to compress in one DVD, the poorer the quality of the video ... so I try to limit the number of episodes to 12 or max of 13 ... so for Myself, Yourself which has 13 episodes I was able to convert and save in one DVD disc and play it in my portable DVD player ... I hope this helps and check out some tutorials online, too ... that might be able to help you ... or you can ask BlackBlade ---> AnimeA Tech Guru ... hehehehehe ... you can ask him anything about gadgets, conversion and computer stuff ... you can PM him if you want ...

Thanks for the extended answer, ah.ni.may! You explained it well! I sent a PM to Twiz explaining how to burn into different formats. In case others have the same question, I'll post my PM here: Quote:

It is slightly bloated, but it works for almost every single burning use you can think of. I have Nero 7 Enhanced myself, and I am looking to upgrade to Nero 8 soon. Tell me how it works for you, mate! ;-)

Works Great! I was worried that the first dvd I tried to burn would be a failure, but I did it first try. Nero 8 is amazing. Just put in your disc, pick which videos to use, play with some of the settings and names and click burn. Its really that simple! (And thats for a dvd that will play back in DVD-Players) =D Nero 8 is def worth the money. |

hi twizt, usually when I try to burn MKV files, the subtitles are gone because in MKV files, the subtitle is not hard subbed ... hope you are successful and then I'll try it out too ... but don't wanna buy Nero 8 (its expensive) and then later on it turns out that it cannot do the job I want ... I want to convert MKV videos to DVD format playable to a portable DVD player with subtitles appearing ... hehehehehehe ... thanks for any reply ...
