Personally, I prefer to use NeroVision Express 3. You simply select to create a DVD-Video, and it is then just a case of dragging and dropping your episodes onto a list, creating a menu then letting the software do all the rest of the converting and burning automatically. However, it's not free but it's an excellent purchase, well worth it for speed and quality.

=D

@sendaii have you tried burning MKV video format into DVD video using the NeroVision Express with the subtitles appearing???

that's been my main problem with MKV videos ... if you have been successful and the subtitles appear please let me know and I'll get NeroVision Express 3 ...

I don't mind buying the software but I want to make sure that it works ... thanks for any replies ...

@ah.ni.may: I find it much easier to convert the MKV into a .avi and embed the subtitle file into the .avi with VirtualDub and VobSub. Follow the instructions here to learn how to do it. Once this is done, you can burn it with NeroVision like a normal .avi

@sendaii ... thanks for your reply (sorry I was late in replying) ... actually that's what I'm doing also ... I was hoping the NeroVision can be a one step converting process and not a 3-4 step converting process like what I'm doing now ... *sigh* ... I guess back to the ol' drawing board ...

Regarding mkv's

you can also rip the subtitles from the mkv.
Rename the srt file the same as the avi file you made by converting your mkv, then burn the files as data dvd.
With a compatible dvd player you can even switch your subs on and off :)

Not sure how the default selection of subs works with multiple episodes, so you might have to scroll thru your subtitles to find the right one on the home dvd player.

At least like this you wont need those extra programs virtualdub and vobsub, although you might need a subtitle ripper.

Hope this helps

btw whats the point of using nerovision with avi's when you can burn avi's as data and save time converting? (nerovision doesnt support subtitles i think)
