(It seems the anime section gets most hits so I posted here, rather than a diff section)
It seems a lot of people are asking about this lately, I can convert video files if youd like, all I ask is the following:

A link to download the file you want converted
Tell me what format you want converted TO.
Rep me ^_~

Disregard the ffmpeg, mencoder shit too

ffmpeg, mencoder and mpeg2enc are just names of software that is able to play back and compress MPEG based files.

These MPEG files are put in "wrappers" which allow them to be played by various programs. Macs tradionally use MOV wrappers while Windows has used AVI and WMV. That is why you will see those 3 or 4 letter extensions at the end of filenames, to help the computer know which program to use.

DV7 is the latest codec and its really HQ video but with smaller file size ... its fairly new so few players can play it ... in another forum where I go to, its what they use for full length movies ... instead of the movie being around 700 mb, its only around 300-400 mb with with same video quality :)

loveformetal1 ... what software do you use to convert all of these format??? even total video converter cannot convert all of these ... just curious :p

I have tried to convert mkv to avi using magic converter. But output size is really big.. So with total converter. Xilisoft so many software, don't to use which one. Help me here.What software did u use to convert to avi in around 170mb.

I use ffmpegx with some other stuff from the same site installed in with it. It was kind of a weird installation process

I can do a shitload of others too including psp ipod, and apple tv so Pm me if you have another format you need done and I'll see what I can do
audio as well.
