a program i was introduced to not long ago was "super" supposedly converts ANY format to heaps of other formats. only tried rmvb to avi .. but its worked well for me!!

@dragong88: I heard about that too. Looked at it, but haven't gotten the time to try it out yet. Anyways...

@BlackBlade: No. ah.ni.may said that she wanted the 3 parts (WinRAR archive) combined to get the video in .avi, and then coverted to a smaller filesize (like .mp4 or .mkv, whatever) and she was also asking if loveformetal1 could hardsub the video for her, instead of her needing the subtitle file along with the vid. Hope that helps to clear things up. :D

hi guys, did not know you were responding to my request.

To clear it up, kutae was correct ... it is actually 1 episode a beginning special of Densha Otako ... for some reason, the one who uploaded this episode divided it into 3 avi files ... after I downloaded it, the file names were BS.avi BS.avi.002 and BS.avi.003 plus a separate srt file (subtitle) I wanted to make it into 1 avi file ... if I put it all together, the file might end up around 900 mb, so I wanted a smaller file size.

Thanks to all who wanted to help, but I was able to find an irc channel to get a complete hardsubbed copy.

Um...ah.ni.may? Those are called parts...meaning each one of them is a "piece", so to speak..of the 170 mb avi file, so you need to download all three...and then they combine to make the one avi file. As for the subtitle thing, I haven't done subbing before, so I wouldn't know how to hardsub a vid, although I'm sure it's pretty easy to do with the right program. ;) (Softsubs don't matter, and if you have a subtitle file like srt or ssa etc, you can just open it along with the media file, or it'll automatically play in my player if they're named the same. eg. "One Piece 256.avi" and "One Piece 256.srt") Anyways...glad you got the subs. Let us know if you need help with anything else. :D
