Yes it can! In the "Subtitle" tag of MediaCoder you will see a little box called "Subtitle" with a button next to it that has 3 Dots. Click on the button, and a load box will appear. Navigate to the subtitle file and click "Open". If your timing is set correctly, then the subtitles will be in the transcoded file.

No problem! If you need help using MediaCoder, search for it on the forum here. I have posted a lot about it.

Hello..i was wondering if either of you could help me. i'm having the same problem as ah.ni.me, trying to convert mkv to avi. i tried what you already told her to do, going to the subtitle box and clicking language and setting it to en, but it won't show up! i get video and audio perfect, but no subtitles.
i have matrasoka pack, ffdshow and cccp codec packs installed. any help would be apreciated, thanks!

Humm... I don't really like the CCCP pack. They haven't updated it in ages. I would use the K-Lite codec pack. It has Mastrasoka, ffdshow, DivX, etc. all in it. Be sure to completely remove an existing codec pack before installing another one. Grab the Full version:

http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

Try it again, mate. It should work.

okay, i got rid of all my other codec packs and downoaded the k-lite pack, but still got the same result, no subs with video and audio. i'm using mediacoder 0.6.0 build3980. this is what i have the xvid mkv file set to for conversion:

Audio: Source: Auto Select
Encoder: Lame MP3
Resample: Original
Channel: Stereo
Gain: 0dB
Audio in: 0

Video: Mode: Bitrate-based
Format: Xvid
Container: Default
Source: Auto-Select
Backend: Auto-Select

Picture: Crop: Disabled
Frame Rate: 25.000 (Global is checked)
(everything else is grayed out)

Subtitle: Language: en
Id: 0
Font: Absalom (True Type)
Scale: Move Diagonal

Hope that can help ya, cause i have no idea whats wrong:)

Yeah, I downloaded Azumanga, and it was an MKV and I converted to my ipod using this program called videora. Well, it worked very well with other conversions such as youtube videos and movies, but when I uploaded this anime, the subtitles were gone. Must I really download another program to convert them back with the subtitles?...I'm not really tech savy...so if you can help, please explain carefully. haha...sorry
