Mega Manager/Toolbar

Hello everyone, I have been using this site for my main download source for a while now. To make reading a bit more easier, I'll make a list of things. (You can skip the readings and read the problems at the end)

Info about me and my experience before Mega Manager:
1) 30 to 40 mins to download anything (mainly rapidshare, megaupload, and a couple other sites)
2) 20 min to upload anime videos to Megavideo.

After I downloaded Mega Manager:
1) Took me an hour to understand how to set it up "correctly"
2) Downloading is still at the same speed though, but it helps a lot since my download randomly stops and I have to completely restart it, mega manager allows me to resume it.
3) 5-10 sec instant upload, able to resume any stopped upload

Good things about Mega Manager:
(Notes: From 2 weeks experience)
1) Can resume any downloads/uploads (In Megaupload, Megavideo, etc.).
2) Instant upload (for me, not sure for others)
3) Easy Management (to edit video details, organize your videos to make searching easier, etc.)

Bad things I HEARD about Mega Manager:
(Notes: I believe it's just the user's problems but not too sure)
1) Mega Manager is a waste, it doesn't work, it's a spyware
2) Downloading is slow, and you will get a lot of virus, trojans, etc.
3) It changes your default search engine and redirects 404s (can’t find webpage) to ad-based sites. It may as well be one big piece of ad-ware.
4) People were having problem getting rid of Mega Manager, even after uninstalling it.

Good things about Mega Toolbar:
(Notes: I really haven't really used it until recently I heard about the Happy Hour)
1) Happy Hour (6 hours of unlimited downloads from Megaupload I heard)

Bad things I HEARD about Mega Toolbar:
1) It's a spyware

PROBLEMS
1) Mega Manager keeps opening up IE instead of Firefox, does anyone know how to fix this?

-I went to mega manager and went to options, integrate with firefox once more but nothing really happened. I then went to both IE and Firefox addons and disabled the mega toolbar. Also disabled mega manager integration for firefox to see if that did anything (I don't see it on IE and don't remember ever agreeing to integrate it on IE when I set up mega manager)

2) (OPTIONAL) Can someone tell me from experience if Mega Manager and Mega Toolbar are a good thing or a bad thing to have? (I mostly want to hear if those bad things I heard about them were true or not.) I've been reading a lot of forums and kept hearing from both sides. I wanted to be sure what is true.

I tried it once,sucked really bad,i had a premium acc and the dl speed was around 70% at the time (of my current bandwidth) ... Problems around resuming files,they couldn'te be! (lol ... MU own application,and didnt do the things it says it does) and coudlnt recognize corrupted files and invalid links.

Stay away from it.

I never had any problems with the Mega Manager (no spyware virus or ad-ware).. I don't know if there are some problems with the uninstallation, though since i never tried to remove the program from my pc..
what I can say is, that when I dl from MU the Manager boosts my speed by approximately 40 - 60 %.. when I download with firefox I get around 300 - 800 kb/s max. (with MUManager -> 500 -1200 kb/s max) .. I've used the MUM for about a year now and have never experienced any bugs or trojan attacks..

lol, I'm guessing no one knows how to solve problem 1. That's really fast for downloading, lucky >_> I'm guessing I get slow speed since I'm downloading on laptop. It sounds like everyone who was complaining about MUM was unlucky or didn't set it up correctly. Thanks.

well mega manger sucks at downloading. try Internet download manager. it lets you resume and download mega upload files ( i have done it personally, like 100 times :D )

but yes i am also surprised on mega mangers uploading speed. its almost like instantaneous. I am still confused on this. but i use this M manager to upload files to MU, its hell alot faster than any method I know. ^^

lol, I know what you mean. mega manager is the same download speed for me. Internet download manager? am I allowed to have that and Mega manager installed?

lol yeah, IDM is a great program but it is not free, it has a 30 day trial tho. try it out. I use M manager to upload and IDM to download files. and also IDM can be integrated to firefox, oprera, Iexplorr...etc.

and dont worry those two programs will not crash. ^^

Okay, thanks lol. Is there a way to take advantage of using IDM 30 day trial?

yes there is, well there are many non-legal ways like cracks and serials, but I recomend U to buy it if U like it. IDM can also Download the streaming flv videos. :D

but reversing the system clock does no good. trust me, it will not work. the count will continue.
