My favourite manga is Tribal 12, I don't know if anyone has ever heard of it, it is written by osada yuuko. Can't seem to find it anywhere in the net, only reviews but no episodes online

And I totally agree with Kaizen, when I say that I also prefer the manga better than the anime.... But another great manga by Ken Akamatsu is Love Hina which I like very much :)

My number one favorite is Kaze Hikaru, and has been for a long time. To me, it's the perfect series. It's shoujo but it's not mushy, it has great plot and accurate historical details.. the art style is very unique as well as cute, but that doesn't take away from it depicting scenes of a serious and heavy hearted nature. Basically, the art style holds weight while still being endearing). The characters are also remarkable, loveable, and based on actual people in history.. eg. Okita Soji. (Plus! The manga-ka is fun!)

Other series I like a lot are Fruits Basket, Honey & Clover, Kare Kano, Blade of the Immortal and Emma.
