Description: Death Note has been adapted for big screen inthe form of two live-action films. The first one premiered in Japan onJune 17, 2006 and topped the Japanese box office for two straightweeks. It is mostly faithful to the manga (with some slight alterationssuch as the addition of Light's girlfriend Shiori), starting with Lightin a university and flashing back a year or so to him receiving theDeath Note. It ends with his first meeting with L. The second movie isscheduled to premiere on November 3, 2006. An early review of the justreleased Japanese film has also been released.[4] The first movie hasbeen released in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Also, 'Death Note'(æ*»äº¡ç¬�è®°) was released in Singapore on October 19 2006, withEnglish and Chinese subtitles. News has it that the second movie,"Death Note: The Last Name" will be released in Singapore on December28 2006 with English and Chinese subtitles.

I tried fixing the subtitles myself. Damn, it took me almost two hours for just the first 11 minutes of the movie! Is this what subbers do every week when they sub anime?

It depends on the fansub group that subs it but most of the time it isn't the same with live action movies.
