For a reintroduction episode, this was pretty exciting. Having this Isaac hunt served as a way to bring up how there’s something fishy going on with the military and Bradley, while at the same time reacquainted us to most of the state alchemists, Ed, Al, and their quest for the Philosopher’s Stone.

OP/ED - I really liked the music from the original FMA and had hoped that the new series could feature some good songs as well. Fortunately, YUI and SID don’t disappoint. Both songs are pretty good - Uso is a bit more catchy but I’m liking again more the more I hear it.

I really really liked the OP/ED, haha. And the running gag of Ed's height has not lost its effect on me yet.

Randomly, while I'm seriously missing Roy's old voice, I found it soooo funny that Ali-Al Saarches and Lockon Stratos are really good buddies this time around. HAHA. And in a series that airs during the same time/day/timeslot too!

i dont get this animie the first fma was awsome. so were gonna have to sit thru 30 episodes before we get to new stuff? ihavent read the manga but was the first series really that different? so in the manga they never made the philosipher stone?

^We aren't going to sit through 30 episdoes of the same stuff. As this series follows the manga, and the manga and first anime series are VERY different. Just keep watching, I think that the pace will be going a bit quicker this time around as I've heard that the new series is to be 50 or so episodes. And the manga is going to be ending at chapter 100, which is still months from now. So I think that when the anime catches up with the manga it will be just in time to fit the manga ending into the anime.

That said, I watched the first episode yesterday and loved it. It had all the components that make this show great. The OP/ED are spectacular and the animation this time around is eons better!! I have to say though I so like the ED theme much better then the OP, maybe if they had stwitched the two around....?

i guess i am the only one that was dissapointed...

i download the 720p version and i found the whole anime movement..abit weird ..or lets say old!

i found out that it follows the manga.. but that does't mean we dont know what will happen..

i thought seeing dead people from first series would be nice ..but it did't have an effect on me. I know we are going to see more love in this anime between ,cant remember the name, the girl back home and fma but i am not sure if this would be enough.

also i guess we never exactly saw what happend in his training period just few bits ..before the main story started in the original series so the fighting might be excited.

stupid question but since i first watched FMA and then Naruto is the main character voice the same? because the tone and voice looked the same.

music was ok and the jokes were like before (though they kinda look like watching naruto)

Well i have trust in the creators of one of the best animes ever so ..lets see what else we are going to see in the future..though a story that has already been said..its hard to make me go "wow..i wonder what will happen next"

exactly like apo said now we get to see the same characters die all over again...i hope more die and there is more blood. i havent read the manga cause i thought the first series was based on the manga cant believe they are nothin alike. when i watched it i was like what the hell are these people doing alive.

I was amazed. The OP was so much better than I thought just from listening to the song alone, ED great. The art looks superb (I like the painted-like touch). A lot of characters were introduced in an episode so the ones who know them already didn't get bored...
Only thing I miss is Mustang's old voice, hope I get used to the new one (doesn't sound as much sarcastic as I would like but that may change, I hope). My sister swore loudly and thoroughly because of it. (OK, and she hated that Armstrong's sparkles were re-coloured to orange instead of violet!)
Can't wait till another episode. As I looked up this one only as a trial version, I got hooked up already.

Spookiest line ever:

Fuhrer Bradley: "I can't wait till I say my son I saved your life, Fullmetal Alchemist."

my impression of the first episode:
well, its not exactly the same like last time, kinda like new season but with already dead person back to life.

This new series gonna be a very good stuff for people who already watch and like the previous series (and also the manga followers, heard it was gonna be more faithful to the manga). It was a bit fast in the beginning and might not good for people who newly just pick this up without reading the manga and previous series, however it will be good for people who like their first episode to be clueless or something make they think "what the hell happen? what is that power? what the philosopher stone all about?". Well, its like a trend currently that anime was meant to be more towards make people think and guess rather than give you all straight and probably later will give hint from flashback (like the current series of phantom~requiem for the phantom~)
