High school 2nd year Amano Yukiteru is a boy who has problem makingfriends. He thinks of himself as a bystander and will always write downeverything he sees in a cell phone diary. Tormented by solitude,Yukiteru began to imagine things like a friend called Deus Ex Machinawho is apparently the Lord of Time & Space. However, Deus now wantsto play a game with Yukiteru, a game of survival. There are 12contestants, Yuki is one of them. The winner of the survival game willbecome the next Deus Ex Machina. Each contestant is given a futurediary, and each diary is different, in order to win the game thecontestants must use their diaries to eliminate one another. In orderfor Yuki to survive, he must team up with another diary holder, a girlby the name of Yuno.

Mirai Nikki was one of the coolest manga I read. I only read up to the third book. Basically, the main character's observer's diary empowered with the stalker's diary of the 'observer' strengthens their survival.
To obtain the so called 'Future Diary' one needs a certain style of writing. such as obsession about writing everything around him except himself, or something else. Future Diary shows what they would have written if they didn't reveal it first. It is nearly impossible to go against events prophesied in the future diary. But, you know how it goes, it won't be interesting if that was a set rule for the story.
