One Piece Meets the Future - A Fanfic

Unless you've been living under a rock, or if you've been in a coma, One Final Piece is the latest and greatest
thing on the forums made by our great friend Hitotsumami. Inspiration triggered inside of me (not for the first
time, and Hito has also triggered it) and I decided to make a fanfic! I hope you like it. This happens before
Thriller Bark but after Enies Lobby. And this really uses the 21'st century so TV's won't be revealed as TV's
right away.
Chapter 1: The Futuristic City and the Pirates
Luffy and his crew were sailing smoothly. Things were going very well. The sun was shining, the waves were
calm, and everybody was out and about. Sanji was busy cooking lunch while Zoro was training. Nami was reading a
magazine while lounging, Luffy was fishing, Usopp was busy conducting some sort of experiment with Chopper.
Franky was building a couple of weapons while Robin was reading a few history books.
"Nami!" Luffy said. "How much longer till the next island!"
"We should get there by tomorrow, if we're lucky." Nami said.
Luffy pouted.
"I can't wait. I smell adventure!" Luffy replied.
"Then your nose better focus on what's Sanji's cooking." Nami said.
A little later, everybody was eating. Everybody was having a good time until Franky noticed some odd metal
object flying in the sky.
"Hey, what's that thing?" Franky asked.
Zoro looked up.
"Oi, can I cut it up?" Zoro asked Franky.
"Of course not!" Franky replied. "Let's see what it does."
Franky outstretched his chain arm and returned it, grabbing the item. It was an odd box with a screen with
several buttons on it. Franky pressed one and it turned on.
"Hello." The box said.
"SUGAI!" Luffy said. "It talks!"
"I see that you have recieved this message. I want you to do something. Sail sharply to the east and you will
see something very interesting. It is a city that is futuristic. Tall towers, giant screens like these and
flying transportation. It will be in your greatest interest to go. You will get there in a couple hours. Oh,
and this is set to self destruct." The box said.
Everybody looked at it and it exploded right in their faces.
