Absolute Boyfriend (manga review)

All girls Undergo such a stage of being in hurry to fall in love. Some of them would even go as far as doing just about anything to improve their figure. 16year old Izawa Riiko is definetly one of them.

From the famous mangaka, Watase Yuu, who gained popularity through her works Fushi Yuugi and Ayashi no Ceres, come a six-volume manga series entitled Zettai Kareshi (or Absolute Boyfriend). The story is centered on a young lady named Riiko, an ordinary schoo girl whose only wish is to have a significant other. After getting dumped by her recent crush, she finds herself talking to an odd man who claims that he sells different kinds of extraordinary items. An annoyed Riiko blurts out, "Okay the, I want a boyfriend, Can you do that?" The odd man simply smiled and hands her a card with a website written on i.

MAIL ORDER LOVER, ANYONE?

Soon, Riko ends up purchasing a "figure" online who will serve as her boyfriend for a free 3-day trial. The figure, whom she named Night, turns out to be a total dream - He treats her like a princess and always look out for her welfare (that he would go as far as unbelievable things). On the third day, the odd man pays Riiko a visit. He informs her that she wasnt able to return Night after the trial period so it means that she has actually bought Night for an amount of a Million dollars!

Knowing that she can't pay for it, Riiko desperately hopes for an alternative. The odd man thought of a good idea - she must help Night learn more about the feminine characteristics and the debt will be erased. Thus the start of their funny love story with occasional drama.

Absolute Boyfriend is a refreshing change from Watase's usual mushy manga turned anime series works. Though the theme of android and human relationship is not a new in the anime and manga world, fans of this type of story may enjoy the humurous Absolute Boyfriend

Its a good, short read, but it can get a little frustrating also. As for a review goes, I dont want to take over gias thread, but essentially it is for girls. Guys can read it also if your into the genre, but its a reverse love triangle...Sort of.

Awwww! I LOVED this manga. I thought it was sad though. I wanted to see her end up with Night. =/

YES!!! He never wakes up?! I kinda wanted the manga to carry on but I guess it had run it's course, but what was with the babies in charge of the company? Weird O_o
