Hello all,

I was wondering what anime I was going to watch after I finished with D.N.Angel and decided to look up reviews.
I didn't really see anything good as all the reviews were different threads and I had to keep going back and clicking another thread, so I decided to make this thread.
This thread is for reviews on various shows.
Basicall, you finish watching an anime and you want to post a review, and you can post your review here so that people, like me, who want to find a good anime to watch next can look on this thread and find a show that sounds good to them.

Anime Name: Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

Genre: comedy, shoujo

Subbed/Dubbed: subbed by KissSub

Review: This is one weird, wacky, crazy funny anime that I've watched in a long time. I got stitches on my side laughing my head off watching this anime. Sunako-chan is not your typical anime heroine with her weird hobby, and she's only one of the quirkiest character you will meet while watching this series. Other weird charcaters include: Sunako's "friends" Hiroshi, Akira, Josephine and John; there's the Goth sisters, Sunako's Auntie (their landlady), Sunako's father and even her mother are wacky; and you think the four flowers are normal, better think again!

I like the way the animator uses chibi, paper-cut figures and even stick figures to emphasize or exagerrate the reaction of each character specially when they get scared. One of my fave episode is when they were doing a pictorial in a Hunted House ... Gothic look is so cool. Opening and Ending songs typifies a rock-on Jpop feel. This anime is one Halloween party!

Fans of Hana Yori Dango and Ouran High School Host Club will find another favorite with Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge.

Anime Name: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Genre: Horror, Thriller, Murder Mystery.

Subbed: Watched the subbed version from Triads subbing group. Download version sub/dub not checked. Sorry.

Review: The anime follows a cast of friends from Hinamizawa, as they get involved with the village traditions of annual murders. The strength of this anime lies with its characters and storyline, something hard to explain or understand without spoiling. The entire anime contains 6 story arcs, which seeming are independent of each other, but having a continuity, that requires you to sit through it, to get the 'questions' 'answered'.
The effects using shades that portray the evil characteristics are awesome, which can creep a person out from cute in very short time frame.

Downloads: Even this site has it, if you are on this site reading a review, it should be easy.

Anime Name: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

Genre: Comedy, Science Fiction, Supernatural

Subbed/Dubbed: subbed by a.f.k. fansub group

Review: What first drew me to watch TMOHS is the bunny suit that Mikuru Asahina was wearing from the first episode ... and from there I was drawn to the wacky antics of HS ... I wanted to see what she would be up to next.

I was at first confused because the time frame of the story was jumping around ... especially in episode 3 where Yuki Nagato told Kyon that she was an alien ... and then episode 4 where the SOS Brigade competed in a baseball game ... and then back to the scene between Yuki and Kyon in episode 5 ... but it's part of the charm of the series that left you saying WTF happened!?

... of course, I personally have been interested in paranormal fiction like espers, aliens and time travellers so the appeal of the series magnifies

... but realization of the amazingness of the series was made to me by episode 13 when Haruhi was telling her realization of her insignificance in the world ... "just a drop in the ocean" ... but because of this realization, she tried to turn her life around and made things happen ... my favorite quote from the entire series; "Nothing fun will happen if you sit around waiting" ... and it's so true ... a lot of people complain that they are bored, or they don't like the way things are going, but they're not doing anything about it ... it's about being proactive ... taking the initiative and doing things for yourself ... don't wait for time to pass you by ... if you want to do something ... just do it ... live your life to the fullest ... this I think is the spirit of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Anime Name: Love Hina

Genre: Comedy, Ecchi, Harem, Love - Romance, School Life

Subbed/Dubbed: Both

Review: Keitaro and his childhood sweetheart make a promise to be accepted at and to meet each other at the prestigous Toudai University before she moved out of his life. About a decade later, Keitaro has become an artist and a daydreamer, having ranked 27th from the last in the national practice exam. When his grandmother leaves the all-girls dormitory, he becomes the residential manager and soon meets up with two Todai applicants who may have been that sweetheart, since he's forgotten her name. Then there the other tenants like young Shinobu who was in despair until Keitaro helped her, Motoko the swordsmaster who sees men as evil distractions, Su Kaolo the genius child inventor and the sneaky Kitsune. Anime Name: Air Gear

Genre: Action, Comedy,Sports, Ecchi

Subbed/Dubbed: I've seen subbed version, dunno about dubbed but i think there is one.

Review: Itsuki "Ikki" Minami ( called Babyface, later in anime- Crow) is the leader of group called "east side gunz". One day he is humiliated by an Storm Riders ( people who use Air Trecks(AT) - automatic roller-skate thing) gang called Skull sadders. He comes home and founds his "sisters"(his parents are dead and he lives at one of his parents known friends house) AT. He takes them himself and fights the gang. When he tastes the sensation called "flight" he can't stop using Air Trecks and is determined to reach the top of Tropium tower and become the legendary Sky King. Later in series he forms a group called Kogarasumaru.

Anime Name: Sola

Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Romance

Review:
Yorito Morimiya is a young boy attending high school. He loves taking pictures of the sky at any time of day and any time of the year. One day, Yorito decides to take a picture of the sunrise overlooking the bay, but is deterred when he meets a strange girl trying to force a vending machine that stole her money to give her what she tried to buy — a can of tomato juice. Yorito helps her with forcing the machine while attempting to strike up conversation with her, despite it being four in the morning. Yorito tells her why he is here, but by the time he has forced the can out of the machine, the girl has mysteriously vanished. The next day he meets the girl again and learns her name -Matsuri Shiho. She is the Yaka (Calamity of the Night) beeing - a supernatural being that can't stand the sun.

Anime Name: Kanon (2006)

Genre: School, Drama, Fantasy, Romance

Subbed/Dubbed: I've seen subbed version. Many different sub versions, since I downloaded it at random places.

Review: The Anime follows the main character Yuichi Aizawa, who after seven years returns to the city where he has forgotten most of what happened there. As the anime continues the male protagonist, is involved with solving relationship issues with the girls one by one, effectively making story arcs, that is often humorous in several occasions. In the end, the anime takes a lighter ending than its predecessor as it won't be as depressing.

Rating: 10/10 (won't emotionally move you like kanon 2002, but is still superior in several aspects such as the animation, graphic and humor)

Anime Name: Honey & Clover + Honey & Clover II.
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance, Shoujo, Slice of Life.
Subbed/Dubbed: Subbed.
Review: Excellent anime. Cute, humorous and teaches a lot of things about life. Made me think too about what I was doing in life. The story is quite long, but its generally quite funny. You can really relate to the characters. Ending is superb. Love the ending in H&C II. A must see for ANY fan of love and romance.
Downloads: Easy to find, slow downlaod rate though.
Rating: 10/10 definately.

Anime Name: Burst Angel (Bakuretsu Tenshi)
Genre: Action, Western, Sci-Fi
Subbed/Dubbed: Personally Watched the DVD set.
Review: The Year is somewhere in 20xx. Majority of Japan are permitted the carrying of firearms and it is no longer a safe place. The story follows some teenagers who work for a syndicate as mercenary gunslingers. Unfortunately, despite the great potentials and budget (the animation is great, the anime isn't) , this series is full of flaws in its script. None of the character develop at all in terms of personality and the character's actions don't seem to suit either. Jo never actually even scratch a robot (mecha) armor with her own guns, but continue shooting anyway. And side characters have nearly no importance.
