This is the Bio of the series that can also be found on my website. Its written as to not give away any real spoilers in consideration for those who have yet to watch it. ;)

Yu Yu Hakusho, written by Yoshihiro Togashi and published by shueisha, originally ran in the Weekly Shonen Jump from 1990 through 1994 and was constructed of 19 well-put-together manga volumes. On October 10th, 1992 the anime was ran on Fuji Television and Animax in Japan where it was directed by Noriyuki Abe whome directed other popular series such as Flame of Recca and the newer Bleach series. Yu Yu Hakusho was published by Studio Pierrot and ran on television through January 7th, 1995. It consists of 112 episodes and 2 movies. In japan a series of Original animated videos were also released including "Eizo Hakusho", A Recap guide through the series made up of 3 volumes, and an Opening/Ending Ecncyclopedia for the show.

In 2001 North America licenced the series and it aired on United States television February 2002 on the latenight Adult Swim block on Cartoon Network. In 2003 it moved to Toonami and in 2005 it was moved to Saterdays timeslot where it finally finished its run, after years of reruns through each Saga.

The Storyline is most original compared to the other series of its time. It begins with a bit of a kick. In the very first episode, the main character dies. Yusuke Urameshi, a child delinquent is everything but the average schoolboy. Constantly skipping school, his relationship with those around him seems pretty dull. His mother is never home and always drunk, his teachers treat him like scum, and his reputation around town gets him into fights wherever he goes. The only one that actually understands him is his childhood friend Keiko Yukimura and even that relationship is a bit questioning.

No one suspected that he would do any good in life. One day he watched a little boy chase his ball into the road in the path of a speeding car. With a sudden act of heroism, he finds himself dead...and the child with nothing but a few scratches. After realizing his situation he is greeted by a cheery Grim Reaper, Botan, who explains that Even they didnt expect him to save the kid and die and were not ready to lead him to the spirit world and therefore Prince Koenma has an ordeal to bring him back to life, but does he really want to go back?

The mangaka, Yoshihiro Togashi, has written many masterpieces besides Yu Yu Hakusho such as "Ten de Shôwaru Cupid" and his popular "HunterXHunter" series which is still running. He was born on April 26th 1966 in Yamagata Prefecture, Japan. His first Manga "Okami nante Kowakunai" was published in 1989 and was consisted of many short stories, one of which won the Tezuka prize. Togashi's most favored genred series are Supernatural fiction. He is also married to Naoko Takeuchi who is the mangaka of Sailor Moon. Currently he has been taking a break from working on HunterxHunter for over a year.

D: stupid anime, damn good at first but sucked at the end
there shud have been more yusuke and keiko loving, and the story of the demon world shud have been elaborated...
but still its an anime worth watching and downloading

It is if u like dragonball and naruto and such its actually good especially during the taguro brothers arc I was so into it actually but just dnt expect too much frm the ending, lets say they hasten the pace where they could have explained and shown more about yusuke's past and such anyway yeah its worthwhile

Yah...It's definately worth watching.@ least one time through.But not after you have seen it the first time.Althought I do like the Spirit Gun and Spirit Sword Techniques used by Yuskei and Ryo.
