he told me that they announced a second season before but then said it wasn't true and now they tell there will be a second season again. so i was kinda confused...

Well, I haven't heard any changes yet since like 2006.

So far, these are the things I know:

1. First announcement of the 2nd season was made on a newspaper full page advertisment on July 7 2007.

2. It will involve majority of the 4th Novel, or at least the title might be derived from it.

3. Last major event in http://www.haruhi.tv the official website for the anime, was in Dec. 18 last year when it showed references to the 4th Novel.

4. Various anime sites and news sites (including Japanese) acknowledge it as 'going to be'

5. No exact date of its official broadcast have been announced, yet.
