Skull I know what you mean. Though my hair is long well no where close to your guitarists it is past my shoulders. I to have a receding hair line. Not really noticiable because of how long my bangs are, but I am thinking about rogaine.

Hey guys, want your opinion on something. I'm thinking about getting a seven - string guitar, to reach the low notes a little better (my preferred gauge of string has some trouble tuning to B standard, say). Do you think that it would be worthwhile?

It seems very odd that your preferred gauge would have trouble tuning to B
have you tried other brands of strings and found they give you the same problem?
If that's the case then it most likely that there is a defect in your guitars neck
it's not uncommon it happens to a lot of guitars either through poor materials
poor workmanship of just wear and tear on the guitar stuff like leaving the guitar
with a missing string for a prolonged amount of time can cause a slight warp
that makes the neck lopsided you you might not be able to see it but you could
hear it or feel it if it's severe enough

I have to stay out of this one King. I am not familiar with 7-strings or 12 strings. And when I did play I was still a novice.

Well, not a problem, Chris. My friend and I are probably going to go spend all day at a guitar center or something, over spring break so I'll just try out a bunch there.

Skull, I think you misunderstood what I meant. My guitar has no problem tuning the b string, I meant that 10 - gauge strings, which I prefer, aren't really heavy enough to tune down to that low of a pattern. B standard tuning (which At the Gates used) runs B E A D F# b.

I find that 10 gauge strings can't go any lower than C standard (C F A# D# g c) without becoming so slack that they are unplayable. Getting a seven - string, however, would give me access to the low B (standard tuning runs B E A D G b e) without changing the string gauge.

Damn club stage. Your band as a very good sound. The singer isn't that bad but because of the stage it takes away from what I would like to see the energy.

I saw Satyricon live on Saturday, it was awesome. My neck is still hurting like hell and my ears were ringing until yesterday evening XD
I was on "Tomahawk Festival" with a friend, to see Cradle of Filth in the first place, would have been the third time for me to see them live on stage - - but Cradle decided to cancel their gig a day before the festival, and I was really pissed off about that.
Not to mention that the poor guys who organized the festival are now chasing their money that they paid Cradle already, and had to find another band to play in Cradle's place, and that only one day before the festival.
The band that spontaneously agreed was "Eisregen", not exactly one of my favs, but they were okay. I was so darn drunk by that time that I would have enjoyed myself anyways :P
Satyricon were really great, though, and by the time I was finished head-banging, I was almost sober again, even though I couldn't see straight anymore xD
All in all it was a nice festival, even though it was only one day. But hey, one long, loud day of metal - so: me = happy ^^
