yupp, right. And I do respect Itachi - wouldn't be a member of this fc if I didn't love him ;)
He was the perfect villain for me - and that picture I had of him got destroyed a little by the claim that his murders suddenly are called sacrifices for the greater good.... it kinda... tainted his evilness :P

rofl xD evil in a good way..... yeah XDD The thing is, if you're trying to be good by doing evil, you're bound to fail, because that still won't make you good. That's what I was trying to tell those ppl who idolize Itachi so much :)
That he commited his crimes for the greater good... well, that just makes him a tragic person....
(I often seem to fall for the bad guys.... ^^ So no wonder I liked Itachi from the start. )

luckily I don't fall in relationships with mad and aggressive girls (well, not anymore, been there, done that, don't want that again XD) - and don't want to have a relationship with a bad guy. The bad boys are just for adventures XD.
My current bf is a nice, though crazy, guy, and that's a good thing. ^^

He'd spent all his time with his evil akatsuki friends and I'd worry about him eventually killing me someday for 'the greater good' or because Pein says so :P
(I HATE Pein, btw. He had potential to be another one of my fav villains, but I can't forgive him what he did in the last manga chapter!)

Well now that we know Itachi's true intentions, it's funny if you look back, everything that he's done before then, makes sense...

He could've killed Kurenai if he wanted to, considering his nearly untraceable speed, and the fact he had Sharingan activated, which predicts an opponents' movements before they can even do them. There would be no reason for him to miss, unless he deliberately chose to...

He could've killed Kakashi as well, but took him out of the way with Tsukuyomi instead. It also explains why his preference is genjutsu, since it does not physically damage the person, nor kill them. Back then, I always wondered why he didn't kill them, if he supposedly was this heartless murderer who massacred his entire clan, then why hesitate killing 3 jounins, he could've did it easily? That was the first indicator that I knew there was more to Itachi than meets the eye, so I wasn't really as surprised as everyone else when it was revealed he was actually a good person. I was always skeptical about it.

It's subtle things like that which makes Itachi's character in general, truly genuine. He's arguably the greatest manga character ever created, in my personal opinion.

yupp, good point, I wondered about that, too. He had the advantage and could've easily killed them, but he didn't (I wouldn't have minded had he killed Kurenai, but I'd pretty much freaked out if he had killed Kakashi.... ^^)

I'm currently re-watching Naruto together with my bf and yeah, I agree, a lot of things Itachi did make sense now.
Some things I did not even notice when I watched the series for the first time.
But even so, I knew too, that there was more to Itachi then met the eye. I wasn't really surprised when we were told the reasons behind his doings, it was more like: "Oh no, don't do this, don't try to make him a tragic hero...." I just did not want to hear it :P And I still don't like it, even though there's enough proof that it's actually true.....
And I kinda suspect that there's still more to his story than we know so far.... xD

funny? uhm..... so far, nothing about Itachi was funny to me.... The only thing that makes me laugh a bit (bitterly, though) is the irony of his life....
He had 'funny' moments with Sasuke when they were younger, but those scenes were always tainted by the knowledge that Itachi later killed everyone except sasuke, and that Sasuke finally fulfilled his misguided goal in life, and avenged his family....
