I noticed that there are a few musicians here so I decided to set up this thread so we can discuss Instruments techniques and music styles and also provide advice for people who are interested in learning to play an instrument.

Me, I play bass and bag pipes
I have two basses a Cort and a Gibson t-bird V (studio model)
My Pipes consist of Leon Drones made in Ulster Northern Ireland and a Chesney Chanter made in Scotland

I'm also familiar with guitar so if anyone wants to ask any questions or put forward any opinions about these or any other instruments, please go right ahead. I'm always eager to learn, help and discuss music

hum...i miss my musicians days...i used to play the drums, i used to have a pearl forum series, but i had to sell it when i moved to this ap, it was about three years ago, from that time on i could only play when there was going to have some festival or something on my school, so i could pratice in a studio...but i guess that it is almost 9 month since i last touched a drumstick.
i was hoping to buy a eletronic drum, it is not the very best option but it is smaller....i just have to pass on my exams at the end of the year so i can think about it....guess that's all for now hhehehe.hum, if you could ask your drummer if he knows any good kind of eletronic drums skull i would apreciate it.....thanks..

lol, i saw the videos on the other thread, the musics are very good although i don't like guttural singing very much, but the rhythm was very cool \m/

I met Ross for a practice today so I asked him about electric drums heres it all in a nut shell

As there aren't to many manufacturers of electric drums brand isn't the major issue it's cost. In Ireland they range from 800 to 2,500 euro the cheapest you should buy should cost no less than 1000 to ensure some standard of quality (apply this principle to the Brazilian price range)

Ok back to the cost the more expensive the kit the better it is. The cheaper ones feel less realistic most consist of a rack or steel cross bar where everything is mounted in a straight line and they have very limited samples which more often than not are unadjustable.

The more expensive you go the more durable and realistic they become. In many of the top kits the components are separate and can be laid out in the same way as traditional drum kit they also have better software that is more compatible with midi and synthesizer programs allowing you to change the programed samples and create the type of sound you want for your kit

When choosing your kit take these 2 factors into account
1purpose
A. Practice - just go for a model from the lower end of the price range

B. Gigging - go for something from the middle to higher price range you'll want durability the possibility of arranging the kit on stage and to be able to change you samples to suit your bands style

C. Recording - Go for the best you can get you'll want the best quality sound available

2. Your playing style
If you are playing generic rock or metal the type you choose isn't too important. But if your style is some thing like Jazz you'll want to go for a higher quality kit with a realistic feel to help you hone your technique and allow you to get sample to create the right sound.
