Death Note is kind of a "dark mystery". I mean the main character is somewhat evil.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (and the sequel), if you watch this, Death Note's mind game just look like a very good game of chess.

The correct name is Elfen Lied. This is good too.
As for Evangelion, wait for the new remake movies :P
