Rep Power: 546      |  Yes. I am 100% for the death penalty. If you killed someone, you ought to be put to death yourself. Instead, they get housed and fed for free, dont get me wrong, the prison systems are hard, but they still dont have to pay anything back. In some cases, these people even are allowed parole... I had a friend killed by a convicted murderer that was released from prison on good conduct... I say kill all those bastards.

The church, the different governement of the world has had their stand about this specific issue and all of them have strong basis. Personally, I think Death penalty should be allowed but thoroughly reviewed by a trusted and selected members, carefully selected and renowned to have a strong sense of justice

Rep Power: 101 | No, I don't think we should have the Death Penalty. There have been some that were found not to be the actual culprits after being sentenced the death penalty. Their lives were saved and they were set free. But who knows what could have happened if they were killed earlier.....Now I'm not saying this happens a lot. Maybe .01% of the time at best, maybe. However, for the sake of that .01% of the people who are actually innocent, I don't think the death penalty is a good idea. I'm actually for the bread-and-water treatment back in the old days for prisoners, where they actually had no rights. These days, they get too many benefits from where I'm looking, lol. @kami - what about your views on this topic?

Rep Power: 546 | I understand where you are coming from wondering, but what kind of life can someone have after they have been in prison for 10-20, heck even 50 years before their retrial found them really innocent? I say just kill them. I may be cold, but for that 99.99% that really are guilty, they kind of spoil it for that 0.01% in my book.

Rep Power: 91 | I'm against the death penalty. In at least the US, it is also more expensive to kill someone than to hold them for their entire life in prison. This is because of the cost of course proceedings, lawyers, etc. I think it is hypocritical to kill someone for killing someone else. You basically are saying, we think what you did is wrong, so we're going to do it to you. It's wrong, but if we do it it isn't. That just doesn't make sense in my mind. There's the saying, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

Rep Power: 94 | I am strongly against death penalty if the crime is as henious and the criminals aristocricies are too much then lock em up and let there be no parole granted And I do understand Mercer's point of view we can probably remedy this by not granting parole to those vicious criminals as what wondering said a life is a life and it is not ours to take it is a gift to be cherished =x

Rep Power: 546 | I see that Im the only one for the death penalty, but thats ok, I tend to be on the opposite side of the totem pole than most people are on many subjects anyway. I just dont agree that murders ought to live. I know that it is extremely hard in the US to give someone the death penalty, cause they can just appeal it forever and it will take many years to actually get that person actually put to death, even if the evidence was beyond the shadow of a doubt, it would still take years for it to happen. However, I just dont like the thought of them even being alive. "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." Maybe so, but by letting them live, we are inserting our values on them... If they didnt think that killing was wrong, then they wouldnt have killed. They obviously dont agree that every life is important, or they wouldnt have killed, therefore, by us leaving them alive, we are inserting our values on them. That to me is the same as pressing religion on someone. I hate those who press their religion on others, telling me once about your values or your religion and its ok, but if I dont ask about them again, I dont want to hear about them. I think its what they deserve for killing another life.
