Was the Goku vs Freeza battle dragged out?

Was the Goku vs Freeza battle really that dragged out? I mean it was supposed to be the final battle in Dragonball at the time, so it make sense that Toriyama and the anime writers would try to to make the most epic battle ever. Plus Freeza is the strongest being in the universe, it would have been anitclimactic if Goku had beat him in 4 episodes instend of 20 episodes.

It was really dragged out. Not to mention they kept recycling their animation which got rather annoying. I don't think it was quite 20 episodes, but felt like it lol

A lot of anime's tend to do that, they just add a ton of talking or recycled animation in just for filler/draggin out purposes

you said it your self, the frieza ( and alot of other) battle was suppesed to be the last one so it should be epic, about the recicling animation, DBZ as almost 20 years, at that time they probably didn't had the resources to make it better/more complete

True I was kind of tired of it by the end but up but up until the planet was about to explode the battle was cool. Then it was like come on Goku kill him already!

Was it dragged out, yes. But you have to ask yourself, was it necessary? Maybe not as far as they did, but it didn't bother me. =p It was a classic fight for sure. :)

It didn't bother me either,I love the fighting scenes Init.....

But, they spent so much time talking more than fighting.
Saying the same thing over and over!
Saying the same thing over and over!
Saying the same thing over and over!
Saying the same thing over and over!
Saying the same thing over and over!
Saying the same thing over and over!
Saying the same thing over and over!
Maybe the manga was different and not as long.
But, the fight with Buu was long. But, it was not as recycled as the fight with Frieza.
