Nanatsuiro Drops vs Card Captor Sakura

Nanatsuiro Drops (ND) was in my To-Watch List since before nit3-senpai left for Philippine vacation ... but I was waiting for all episodes to be completed before I watched it ... while waiting, I watched Card Captor Sakura (CCS) first and when I started watching Nanatsuiro Drops, I was thingking: Hey, this is kinda similar to CCS ...

the story of ND also revolves around a magical girl, she also wears a costume and she is also supposed to collect something like in CCS where Sakura collects cards, Sumomo-chan collects star drops ... Sumomo-chan in ND also has a sidekick cute talking stuffed toy Yuki-chan, while CCS has kero-chan ... some other parallels also involved some romance in the story ... all in all I really liked both series and it was just fortunate that I watched it one after the other ...

others may say, the series is too girly and full of fan-service ... but its ok, I enjoyed this series ... the animation of each character is really kawaii, specially the chibits, story-wise not much adventure but more of love story between Sumomo and Haru ... Sumomo-chan with Haru-kun is just so adorable, their love-love relationship is just soooooo sweet ...






I am hoping for more, but the series is short and sweet with only 12 episodes, I was able to finish all in one viewing ... here are some screenshots ... if anybody else watched this, please let me know how you liked it

i like the seri for the most part except for the scenes where they are trying to be funny, they could do a better job on that part, cause every time there is that kind of scene it leaves me like "Er...............should i laugh?"

maybe ill check it but i still haven't seen all cds episodes seen a few on tv when she alawys had that view of an older women infront of a tower like in paris i think

Mahou Shoujo can be targeted at male audiences, in some cases.

Ya, such as in the later two seasons of Nanoha series, but i watch some of the ccs too and this Nanatsuiro Drops. you can't just said some anime is stupid cause some people like it (or at least say why you don't like that anime, that way people will understand you better)

And several shoujo (lets not limit to mahou shoujo) anime have some great number of male audience too. I watch shoujo anime too, if I like it, thats all that matters, no matter what other people's bad opinion on me for watching it. (and i've heard enough already, perv, loli, pedo *cause a lot of mahou shoujo consist of young girls in elementary* what so ever, I'm already been named Animea's resident perv/loli = =)

regarding whether others like magical girl genre or not, I let it slide, not everybody likes the same things, but please show respect

back on topic: @sky, I understand what you mean about some scenes in ND not being funny or trying too hard to be funny ... good thing I was not expecting too much ... but one scene where I laughed:

when Sumomo-chan realized that Yuki-chan was actually Tsuwabuki-kun and she remembered that she brought him with her in the bath and saw her naked

oh ya, that one XD i remembered XD, the one i'm arguing about is that scene when Sumomo got surprised that Tsuwabuki was on the beach.
