[Yokurama]

Saiyan Originally from planet Plant. Saiyans were brutal, dominating one half of the planet. They attacked the inhabitants on the other side of planet Plant and fully took control of the planet. They renamed the planet Vegita. Saiyans are born with a brown tail, this tail allows them to transform into a huge ape at the sight of a full moon and become 10x stronger. Saiyans love a good fight and are not afraid to challenge those stronger then themselves. Frieza saw their ability to take over planets and took them under his wing. He ordered them to take over planet after planet, giving Saiyans a bad reputation all over the universe. After a few decades of doing Frieza's dirty work they got tired of him and decided to over take his position of "Strongest In The Universe", but they failed miserably. Frieza then created a huge energy ball and blew up the Saiyans home planet Vegeta.
Super Saiyan

When a Saiyan gets either greatly frustrated or very angry, they go threw an enormous transformation. Their hair goes spike gold, as do their eyebrows. And their eyes turn green. The true power of a Super Saiyan was first seen in DBZ Movie #4 Lord Slug, but Goku still remained normal. The first time the actual transformation of a Super Saiyan occured was when Frieza killed Krillin in the "Frieza Saga" Goku got so enraged he transformed right infront of Frieza.
Ultra Super Saiyan

Ultra Super Saiyan is not different from Super Saiyan Level 1. To become Ultra Super Saiyan the Saiyan must be able to go Super Saiyan, then after intense training they can power up tremendously increasing their muscle mass and making them look much stronger. Although they are super strong their muscle mass decreases their speed a great deal.
Super Saiyan Level 2

In this form the golden hair is more rapidly spiked and sparks of electricity surround the body. Goku was the first to witness the true power of Super Saiyan Level 2 as he watched Gohan become enraged, transform and then right away become unconscous. Gohan later harnested the power and transformed again into Super Saiyan Level 2 (this time being able to maintain the power increase) and defeated Cell with the help of Vegeta!! After seeing that this level of power could be achieved, Goku and Vegeta trained extra hard for seven years after which they were able to go Super Saiyan Level 2.
Super Saiyan Level 3

The final form seen in DBZ. The rapidly spiked golden hair grows down to the Saiyans waist, the eyebrows disappear and the forehead becomes more pronounced. Also, the electricity gets more violent. Goku decided to go Super Saiyan Level 3 to distract Majin Buu (Fat Buu) from going to Capsule Corporation. He later showed a bored Trunks and Goten all forms of Super Saiyan Levels 1, 2 and 3, before heading back to Heaven.
Super Saiyan Level 4

Super Saiyan Level 4 is not actually a Super Saiyan Level. It was first achieved by Goku after Shin pulled Goku's tail till it was at it's full length. Goku then looked up and the Full Earth transformed him into Golden Oozaru. For a while, Goku fought widely as Golden Oozaru. He finally was able to harness the true powers of Golden Oozaru and as a result he transformed into Golden Oozaru Level 2. I called it that (Golden Oozaru Level 2) because I believe that it is the true power of the Golden Oozaru harnessed in human shape. You see my theory is Super Saiyans have yellowish/golden hair and green eyes. Super Saiyan Level 4 does not, instead it has black hair, an enormous tail and fur covering most of the chest and arms. So it can't be Super Saiyan Level 4. Since it was achieved as a result of being able to control the Golden Oozaru form, it must be Golden Oozaru Level 2!!
Oozaru
When a Saiyan looks at the Full Moon, they go through an incredible transformation becoming a huge brown ape 45 feet tall. Their strength becomes 10x stronger. The only way to beat a Saiyan in this form is to either destroy the source of its power (Full Moon) or cut off the Saiyan's tail. A Saiyan without a tail cannot transform, so if the tail is cut off when in the ape form, they will revert back to normal.
Golden Oozaru
Golden Oozaru was first achieved by Goku when he looked at the Full Earth from the wished back planet Plant. Since Goku had the ability to turn Super Saiyan, the ape was a yellowish/golden colour instead of brown (Super Saiyan Oozaru). Instead of the Saiyan's strength increasing 10x, it increased 1000x!! After Goku harnessed the power of Golden Oozaru and became Super Saiyan Level 4 (Golden Oozaru Level 2), Bebi Vegeta had Bebi Bulma create a devise that would regrow Vegeta's tail so Bebi Vegeta could go Golden Oozaru.
"Legendary" Super Saiyan
Brolli was introduced in DBZ Movie 8. Akira Toriyama introduced Brolli to remove confusion about who really is the "Legendary" Super Saiyan. Brolli can reach Ultra Super Saiyan and still manage to maintain all his speed in the process. Goku has the ability to reach Super Saiyan Level 3, and then later given the ability to go Super Saiyan Level 4. So some believe Brolli is the true "Legendary" Super Saiyan like Vegeta did in Movie 8. Then there are some that remain believing Goku is the "Legendary". The reason Akira Toriyama had to clear the confusion in DB/Z fans was to eliminate the fact that Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Trunks and Goten all have the ability to go Super Saiyan. So the confusion was who was the TRUE "Legendary" Super Saiyan, so the confusion was answered when Brolli was created eliminating the DB/Z Heroes from being THE LEGEND.

I admit I liked the SS3 because of the long hair, I didnt like SS4 because it really took the whole thing too far, but even SS1 looked pretty good

SS2, I liked when Vegeta did that his hair was all....Spikeyspikeyspikey..... and the electric stuff was pretty cool too...
