well this isn't a poem for the difference, it isn't even sad, it's me trying to write something funny (and failing i think), it's a lucky star fanfiction btw


It's morning, Konata Izumi wakes up behind her pc, hearing th sound of a new received pm in the game she was playing.

I'll see you at school
D'ONT BE LATE!!

Konata junks the pm and looks at the clock.
"8am.... WHAT?!? 8AM!?!?"
she quickly puts one her school uniform, runs downstairs yelling "I'm off!" to her father and runs to the station.

arriving at the station she meets a friend.
"Tsukasa!"
"Morning Konata"
"Morning, it seems you're late too."
"Yeah, I overslept."
"As usual...."
Tsukasa scratches the back of her head
"hehehe...." she laughs simpleton
"Didn't Kagami wake you up?" Konata asks
"I think she did, but i think i fell asleep again...."
"that sounds exactly like you Tsukasa."
then a station announcement was made: "the train to Ryōō station will leave in a few minutes, passengers please board the train."
"It's actually kinda sad that you say that Konata."
Konata lifts her shoulders
"I can't change reality."
"....By the way, Konata, why are you late?"
"I held an online gaming session al night long and i guess i fell asleep."
"but..that sounds so like you too..."
"and i can't change that either, but i did find a rare armor before i fell asleep!"
station announcement: "The train to Ryōō station just departed, the next train will arrive in 30 minutes"
"Tsukasa?" Konata is near tears "Did we just miss our train?"
"Uuuhm Konata?" Tsukasa is actually crying "Please tell me it's not true"
"Kuroi-sensei is going to kill us...."

here's the prelude to the story

Prelude

*beep! Beep! Beep!*
"(huh...)"
*beep! Beep! Beep!*
"(Leave me alone...)"
*beep! Beep! Beep!*
"(okay, okay, I'm getting up already.)"
*beep! Beep! WHAM!*
Seph had broken the alarm clock
"I really need to control myself a bit....
All those replacement colcks are getting a bit too expensive..."
He gets up, dresses himself and goes downstairs.
"Morning dear."
"Morning mom." he yawns.
"Smashed your clock again..."
"Yeah, can't help it, those things are too annoying."
"But you would still be sleeping if you didn't had one."
"It seems i just have to live with them..."
"Shouldn't you be going to school?"
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"Well it is 7:45."
"What?!? Why didn't you say so earlier?! I'm off!"
"bye dear."

Seph doesn't realise what is about to happen, in a few minutes his life will take a drastic change and all this involves one girl.


so far the prelude, i think people will be able to guess who this "girl" is XD

Chapter one:
Flaming hair, Burning questions

Seph packs his bookbag, jumps on his bike and rides to school.
Then suddenly, he stops.
"(what is this feeling)
(it feels somewhat familiar)
(Damn, no time to think now, i'm late)"
he ignores the feeling and rides on, after a while the feeling disappears and Seph forgets about it.

When he arrives at school, it begins.
A strange sumbol moves over the ground and passes Seph.
The world grows dark and time seems to stand still.
The feeling Seph had that morning returned, much stronger this time.
Panic struck Seph and he freaked out, he started to scratch himself, hurt himself, hoping it was all a dream but it wasn't.
He ran off inside the school, hoping he could find someone to help him.
but everyone in the school was standing still, they were looking grey almost as if they were statues.
Seph ran around aimlessly, but he found the same scene everywhere.
"(what's happening?!)
(why is everyone like this?!)
(Am i dying?!)"
Then he stopped running.
"NO!" he said to himself.
Ï was always complaining about how boring life was and now something finally happens, I'm like this!
I'll probably even die if i continue panicking like this!
I have to stay calm and look for a way out of this!"
"he he heee..."
"What is that!?"
"Do you really want to disappear this badly?
Fine, it will be my pleasure to eat you."
The creature suddenly appeared before Seph.
It looked human but it was horribly fat.
It held a knife and fork in his hands and looked at Seph with a hungry face, drooling.
Then, despite it's enormous size, it came running at Seph with tremendous speed.
Seph jumped to the side and he felt the monster's moving past his chest.
"(How can he move this fast?!)
(How do I stop something like that?!)"
The thing turned around, way too nimble for it's size, and charged at Seph again.

Seph was about to give up when suddenly a ball of fire smashid through the hallway windows, the fire disappeared and made way for a girl.
"Shana! Help me!"
"(Huh? why do i know her name, i've never seen her before but why does she seem so familiar)"
The girl turned around, looking at Seph with a mixture of surprise and suspicion.
She was wearing a long black coat and underneath that a green colored sailor outfit.
But what sprung out most where her hair and eyes.
Her hair was literally burning, embers sprung from her long locks that reached till her hips and her eyes were glowing like there was a fire behind them.
Her presence totally distracted him from the fight, until a voice that came from the pendant around the girls neck warned them.
"Watch out! Behind you!"
The girl grabbed Seph and jumped away.
Less than a second later a couple of knifes and forks smashed into the ground where they just were.
Then the girl dropped Seph back on the floor and reached in her coat.
Out of nowhere she pulled out a large katana.
"Come on! Show me your best shot!" she laughed at the monster.
"Who do you think you are?! Meddling with my affairs!"
"Oh? you don't know us yet?" the girl looked surprised.
"He must still be a newbie." said the voice from the pendant.
"Then let me introduce ourselves.
I'm Alastor's flame of Heaven! The flame haired, red-hot eyed hunter, Shana!"
"Flame of heaven?!? No! That can't be true!"
the monster panicked, screamed and launched a barrage of knifes and forks at Shana.
Shana just pulled up her coat as a shield and they just bounced of and disappeared.
The monster threw more and more knifes and forks but it didn't have any effect, eventually he fell down on the floor exhausted.
Then Shana grabbed her chance.
She lifted up her sword and flames wrapped around it, she jumped at the monster and sliced.
One hit was all she needed, the monster laid in two pieces on the ground.
His remains were then suddenly engulfed by blue flames.
Nothing remained of the monster and it looked like the fight was over

Seph stared at the place where the monster was a moment ago, his eyes were filled with disbelief, then he realises what just happened.
"(She saved me! I'm not dead!)"
Seph walked up to the flame haired girl.
"I don't know how to thank you, you saved my life."
Shana suddenly turns around, grabs Seph by his neck and slams him into the wall.
"Why can you move?
How do you know my name?
Are you a Guze or a Rinne?"
she asked threatening.
"I...I don't..."
"Tell me!" she lifted up her sword.
"I don't know!!"

Chapter two
What am I?!?

"I don't know?!"
"Tell me!"
"Shana, you're choking him! dead beings don't give answers!"
Shana released Seph's throat and Seph fell back on the floor.
He was clenching his throat and gasping for air.
"What.....Was.....That....For...."
"Well he doesn't look like he is a guze or a rinne, if he was you would've been attacked by now, Shana."
"but why does he know my name?" asks Shana.
"That, I don't know, we should just keep our eyes on him to find out, if he turns out to work for the guze no tomogare we kill him."
"Understood."
"Well then, Shana, why don't you clean up this mess?"
Shana nods, lifted up her finger and whispered something.
all rubble, shards and other damage repaired itself.
Seph was once again astonished by what happened.
"(how can she do that?!?)"
Then, after all damage was repaired, she whispered something again and the empty seats in the nearby classes we're all suddenly filled with with students.
"What the..." says Seph, "What did you do just now, how did you repair that and where were those students during the fight?"
"They were eaten." answers Shana.
"By who?"
"who do you think..."
Seph tilts his head, unable to think of an answer.
"The thing I just killed of course, and i thought you were brighter than normal humans..."
"but how did you return them if they were eaten?"
"I didn't."
"But, they are right.."
"Those aren't the real people, look closely"
Seph walks to the nearby classroom.
"This is my class" he says.
Seph walks up to one of the children that just appeared, upon closer look he saw a little flame inside his chest.
"That's a torch." Shana explains, "Leftovers of people whose power of existence has been eaten, eventually the flame will die and the person will disappear"
"Won't someone notice?"
"No, people don't see the flame and once they disappear their last ttrace of existence will also vanish."
"Which means?"
"That they've never existed."
"And what about the repairs?"
"I just used some power of existence for that."
"Wait, you used humans?"
"No i used some torches from this room, they where going to disappear anyway so it shouldn't be a problem."
"So that's why some of my classmates aren't here..."

Seph was about to ask something else when the pendant intervened.
"Shana, can i talk to you in private"
"Sure" Shana looks at Seph with a weird look in her eyes.
"Huh?" Seph is looking confused.
"Leave, NOW!"
Seph quickly runs to the other side of the hallway knowing he barely escaped a beating.
"Now what is it Alastor?" asks Shana.
"There's something about that boy that doesn't seem right.
Remember the last persons we told the truth or part of it?"
"Yeah they all freaked out and there was even one that committed suicide."
"Indeed, but he doesn't react like that, it's even hard to say if he even reacts at all."
"Yeah, so?"
"Doesn't this trouble you?"
"Not really, he just seems a bit smarter than other humans, although he did act dumb just now."
"It's hard to believe that, even when you're a bit smarter you don't accept everything we tell like this, let's just keep our eye on him and see what he is."
Shana nods, she doesn't know why yet but she feels happy being able to stay with Seph for a while.
"Are you finished yet?" Seph yells from the other side of the hall.
"Yes we are, you can come back if you want."
Seph came running back.
"Hey, Shana, there are still some things i want to ask."
"What?"
"That pendant around your neck, is that some kind of communicator and who is that talking?"
"I'm Alastor, the flame of Heaven, a king of Guze."
"Guze?"
"The Crimson realm, the dimension next to this one."
"And you're communicating through the pendant?"
"Not really, this pendant is my container."
"I still have some questions..."
"Go on."
"What was that thing you killed?"
"A guze no tomogara. a crimson denizen."
"Why was he here?"
"To collect power of existence, guze need that to survive in this world.
But if we let them collect it like this it will distort the balance in this world."
"So you hunt them."
"yes, that is the path of the flame haze."
"You mean like Shana?"
"Yes."
"And the torches are for?"
"To reduce the distortion created, instead of suddenly erasing an existence from this world we slowly let it disappear, thus reducing the impact."
"I see.."
"You finished questioning?" Shana spoke again.
"I think."
"Well then, we have some questions for you."
"Huh?"
"What exactly are you. you don't look like a guze or a rinne but you are still able to move within the fuzetsu."
"Fuzetsu?"
"The spell cast on this area, it is now temporarily disconnected from the normal world so people won't notice us fighting, also all damage done inside a fuzetsu can be repaired."
"I see, and if the fuzetsu is dispelled early the damage becomes permanent?"
"Are you sure you haven't encountered flame haze before?"
"Huh? I can't remember"
"You just have to had contact before, you just understand things too easily."
Seph looks at himself in the window, panic is now clearly visible in his face.
"And why did you know my name?" Shana continues, "You're no ordinary human that's for sure."
"Just what am I?!? I feel like i know what's happening exactly, but I've never been in a situation like this before!"
"You sure?"
"I... I just don't know... I DON'T KNOW!"
"Well then, we just have to stick with you for a while to find out."

Chapter 3
Blending In

"Stick with me? How?"
"Simple, I've used some of your classmates to restore the school."
She points to some of the empty places in the classrooms.
"yeah, you've already told me that"
"Yes, but i can do more."
Seph looks at Shana, his face clearly shows that he wants to know more.
"I still need to repair that", she points to two broken windows at the end of the hall, "but if I use someone for that, it won't use that person completely.
where do you sit?"
Seph points to a seat in the back.
Shana walks to the seat Seph pointed to and stops next to the girl that sits next to the seat, she gently lays her hand on the girls cheek and grins.
"Then i'll use her."
"but you just said she won't be used completely!" Seph intervened.
"Yes, but that's exactly the plan, the remaining power will be sued for a spell that lets me use her existence, people will think I'm her.
You don't mind, right?"
"Of course not" is Seph's answer.
Shana is surprised, but at the same time a bit happy that seph doesn't care for this girl.
"I never talk to the girl, do as you like with her"
"Well that's going to change."
Shana lifts up her finger and the flame inside the girl is almost reduced to nothing, the glass at the end of the hall repairs itself.
Then she whispers something again, the is suddenly engulfed by a blue seering flame and disappears, only leaving a little flame that flies off in Shana's direction.
Shana catches the flame on her finger and it slowly disappears.
"And now, we're done.
And call me Relena from now on."
Shana closed her eyes and the world returned to normal, time passed again, the colours we're back and everyone started moving.
It was like nothing ever happened, no one was even surprised to see some people disappeared.
"I've unlocked the fuzetsu, everything is back to normal now."
Seph looked at the girl that stood before him, disbelief filled his eyes again.
The coat was gone and nowhere to be found, her long fiery hair was black now and her eyes were normal.
She seemd like a normal girl adn, well, very cute.
Seph couldn't keep his eyes of her, that is untill her voice snapped him back to reality.
"Hey, are you still listening?"
"Huh?", Seph really didn't hear her.
"I said: Shall we go then? we're already late."
"Oh yeah, totally forgot that!"
Shana and Seph both ran to their classroom and entered it.

"Seph, what a surprise, you're late again, but Relena, this is a first, though you probably have a good explanation for it."
"I was waiting for Seph.", said Shana.
The entire class made a sound of surprise and began talking to each other.
"Relena and Seph? I must be in the wrong class."
"I thought she didn't even talk to the emo looking weirdo."
"I must've misheard her, she couldn't be waiting for that anime-geek."
Then the teacher broke trough the ruckuss.
"Hahaha, good joke Relena, you told me yesterday you wanted another place."
"I've never said such a thing.", was Shana's response.
"But yesterday... you...."
"Shall we go Seph? We've already caused enough of a commotion."
The teacher was speechless, andso was Seph, he had never been in the center of this kind of commotion before.
"Hey, Seph, snap out of it", Shana said to him.
Seph nods and follows Shana to their seats, everyone was staring at them.
"(This is going to be a long day...)", Seph thinks.

This day was worse than eny day Seph experienced before, normally people would just ignore him, or at least Seph was able to ignore them.
But now everyoe was looking at him and Shana, or Relena as everyone thought, and Seph couldn't ignore it.
"Hey Seph", Said Shana after a few classes, "Wasn't this Relena girl popular?"
"Yes she was..."
"Was?"
"Well, once you hang out with me...", Seph didn't finish the sentence, hoping Shana would understand, but Shana didn't and just stared at him waiting for the sentence to continue.
"You don't get what i mean, do you?"
"No, not really", she answered honestly.
Seph sighed, "Well i'm not actually popular and i've been called an "anime-addicted-wanabe-emo"...
So i don't hang ot with people much."
"Okay, that's good."
"How can that be good?!?"
"It's easier to follow you this way."
"Wait, are you actually going to folow me everywhere?"
"Yes, i said so earlier."
"But won't get people get the wrong idea then?"
"I don't care what people think, and i thought you didn't either."
"Well that's true, but..."
"Then there's no problem."
"But..."
"Shut up, shut up, shut up!!
When i say there is no problem, there is no problem!"
"If you say so..."

The rest of the day went the same and no other weird things happened at school.
*RIIIING!!*
"Finally, it's over", Seph said to himself, "So, Shana, what are you doing after school?"
"Are you really that stupid? I'm going to follow you of course."
"Wait, even after school, when i'm at home?!?"
"OF course, what would be the point in only folowwing you at school.", said Alastor.
"But won't Relena's parents notice?"
"They won't be here for long anyway.", said Shana this time.
"What? Don't tell me they are..."
"Yes they are torches."
Seph couldn't belive it, was the world, shana and now Seph also lives in,
really this cruel?
"(why don't people notice?)"
"I know what you're thinking, Seph, and i also know you know the answer."
"It's because things that never existed can't be noticed..."
"Correct."
"But it's still too cruel to be true."
"It is true, you saw it yourself, the world is as it is, I can only try to limit the damage."
Seph sighs, "I still can't believe it..."

tired, depressed, in pain

then suddenly, from out of the darkness
your hand reaches out to me, cares for me, comforts me
I realize I'm not alone, I will never be
and as long as you are there
I will never have to fight by myself
because I will always be supported
by you...
