Cool Rosario + Vampire Capu2 [Uncensored Episodes]

Ok y'all, if you're a regular on the main Rosario + Vampire Thread then you are aware of the purpose of this topic, if you want more insight on this then check this post for additional information.

The objective here is to keep the whole R+V Uncensored episodes collection organized so you can download the episode on the video and sub format that you want without having to search the R+V topic in search of the elusive and mysterious download links.

First comes the bla bla bla / yawn part (feel free to skip this part and proceed to the download section), consider reading the following chunks of text to get some info about sub formats and choose one of'em which is better adapted to your viewing preferences.

The episodes will be separated into two main categories:

  • Soft Coded Subs;
  • Hard Coded Subs.
Each sub type is unique in which it haves a lot of different properties, both have their own pros and cons, basically (basic explanation):

- Soft Coded Subs:

Soft Coded Subtitles are basically composed of a separate subtitle file which can be easily merged with a video file (an episode is composed of an audio and video file merged together, subtitles in this case are the third property). Please check these tutorials (Part 1 / Part 2), made by Tetrafirez to learn the process on how to create or modify/remove soft subs from an episode (very useful if you want to create your own customized subs or to obtain a specific Raw).
  • Advantages: Soft subtitles have many advantages in which they can be easily incorporated/merged with a video file and edited if one haves the correct software. Since the process is rather simple and no reencoding is needed, the video quality generally remains the same. This format is usually preferred by anime watchers which are more "fluent" to subs due to it's malleability.
  • "Disadvantages": One who might not be aware of soft subs (which is common since this is mostly a technical matter) might have trouble trying to view these subs since it is normally necessary to have "subtitle filters" which are usually included in large codec packs or in a media player itself (check the last part of the post for download links). If you do not have the necessary sub filter installed or the media player is incompatible then it Won't Show the subtitles (this was a common occurrence in the very first three episodes I released and the reason I decided to stick with hard coded subs as the new standard).

- Hard Coded Subs:
Hard Coded Subtitles are the type of subtitles which are combined with the video itself (the subs are an integral part of the video).
The subtitle stream is one with the video frames and text will not be editable.
  • Advantages: Hard subtitles are the best type of subs for the casual anime watcher, the main advantage is that the subs will always appear since no sub filter is needed (unlike soft subs), this makes hard subs rather accessible. Another important advantage is that an episode can be easily converted to other formats and always retain the subtitles since the subs are part of the video itself.
  • Disadvantages: Perhaps the biggest disadvantage is that an episode needs to be reencoded (with the sub file, to join them together permanently), the episode needs to be compressed upon reencoding and video quality loss is usual (these episodes are usually less "crisp" and visually appealing than soft coded episodes). More complex subs (which are better looking) are also much more difficult to encode using this process (while the soft coding process of the same kind of complex subs is basic and easy).

you can use my links here, I don't mind. Anyone who has better (a.k.a. not Chihiro) soft subtitle files for episodes 6, 8, and 9 and can upload them please let me know! I don't feel like re-downloading full eps to make small changes in .ass files! Thanks in advance =]

Notes

- If a link is dead just let me know so I can reupload it;

- If you download a soft coded episode and your media player cannot display subs then try to install a codec pack like:
  1. Those codec packs possess sub filters which generally work with the most common sub file formats (in addition to the wide number of video and audio codecs contained in'em).
  2. Please note that if you have older or other codec packs there might be some "friction" so the program will advise you to uninstall older packs (do it at your own risk).
  3. If you use certain media players like BS.Player the program will automatically ask to download a certain codec upon detecting a new media file format, subtitles might work correctly or not sometimes (you can also associate K-Lite or CCCP to these players in case you want to).
  4. In case the subs don't work even after installing some of the previous programs then try jetAudio's Multimedia Player, if a media player cannot read a certain file type, then chances are that this advanced jetAudio program can (thanks to Djbubber for the suggestion).

- If a file or episode is included on a .rar or .zip (compressed) file format, just download and install one of the following programs:
Just extract the file/s and voila.

- If you want to know more about soft subs (and how to use them for other purposes) please check these tutorials, courtesy of
Tetrafirez:
- BlackMoon22 uploaded the uncensored episodes in Rapidshare in various parts which is great for those with slower internet connections or those who cannot download from Megaupload.

Just get all parts in the same directory/folder, open the first part with Winrar (or another program which can open .rar files for that matter) and unzip the files (they'll be automatically put together).

Important:
Some of those files may require a password, if so the password is:

It really is a pain in the .ass lol. That's why I just soft subbed them. So much easier... And I found episode 6, they have 8 out but I'm trying to find it still. no news on 9... so with that, I'll be posting a small tutorial on muxing, program links, and new .ass sub files as soon as I find ep 8.

Thanks mate, I can also give info on how to hard code .ass subtitles (I have bookmarked some useful sites with step by step tutorials).

.ass subs are really good, main problem is to hard code'em at first (we have to mod our encoding program with some new plugins and some tricks before it is able to correctly hard code this kind of subs), the results are quite worth the trouble though.

I'm also gonna upload Raw episodes and separate (uncensored synchronized) subtitles (specially in .srt and .ass formats) in case people want to create their own episodes in a specific format.

If they want the raws for 6-9, I'll post a demuxing guide as well so they can just rob them out of my mkv's... I didn't edit the raws one bit. lol

Lol, that's a great idea, speaking of which, if you don't mind can I use those mkv's in order to hard code the other subs and possibly even release the separate raws?

At the moment though, I'm gonna hard code subs for the first three episodes (since the first three episodes I released had soft subs).

We're in the frontlines of uncensored R+V content, comrade

Resubbing soft subs Tutorial:

Firstly, you'll need THIS. It's mkvtoolnix, and it's the entire basis of my operation.

Once you've installed mkvtoolnix, download the replacement font set here:
Ep 6

Once you've got the font set, extract the files to the same location as your episode (I recommend creating a new folder and dragging the ep into it to avoid confusion). Once you've done that run mkvmergeGUI from your mkvtoolnix install location (usually creates a desktop icon). Make sure you run mkv-MERGE-GUI and not mkv-EXTRACT-GUI. Open it up and drag the Original UNcensored Ep 6 (available up top) and the Rosario + Vampire Capu2 06 Uncensored (new).ass file into the input. Uncheck the .ass subs from the mkv file.

Next, Click the attachments tab at the top. Now drag all of the remaining TrueType Font files (edo.ttf, Formal_436_BT.ttf, verdana.ttf) into the input area. These make the words pretty.

Now you're almost there. Look at the bottom of the screen and make sure your output is set to [Filename].MKV. Occasionally it'll set it to .mka or .mks, and it's your job to make sure it is set right.

Click Start muxing and it'll chug out your new ep file! You're good to go!

This process will also work to soft sub any file type, just make sure you uncheck what you don't need. =]
