Comedy with a couple exceptions

I've been watching comedy anime a lot lately. The thing is, now I have no idea what to watch next and I can't seem to come up with anything that looks good. Recommendations for anything similar to these would be great.

Cromartie High School, Detroit Metal City, and the Ghost Stories comedy dub were awesome. Trigun and xxxHolic were pretty good too.

The exceptions are romance comedy (like Chobits or School Rumble) or that little girl stuff (like Lucky Star) or anything "moe".

Oh yeah, and they have to have dubbed versions since long story short, I'll have to be watching it on a Zune mp3 player for a while, and subs just don't work with that since they end up way too small to read.

As far as other comedy or comedy-ish animes go, I've already seen (and liked) Furi Kuri, Samurai Champloo, Desert Punk, and Welcome to the NHK.

So yeah, anything like what I mentioned, especially those first three, would be awesome to hear about!

can you enlarge the subtitles at all ? a lot of the intonation (for comedic or emotional delivery and affect) is lost when the original content is expressed in an alternate language.

And nah, I have no clue how to do that or if it's even possible. It's a 320x240 pixel screen, I think subtitles wouldn't be exactly a blast on it anyway

It's a manga, though, but try reading it ;). It has 43 chapters... I know's a bit long but, it's worth it :P

how about Gintama? it's comedy show without any romance i think, and every episode is not connected to other episode, my friend already suggest me this anime, but i haven't find download link to it (i can't stream because Veoh player block my country --> idk why)

DearS is an ecchi/romance/comedy that has an english dub. Although it doesn't have as much comedy in it as anime's like School Rumble I think you would enjoy it. It is very similar comedy that is in Chobits (and actually quite similar to Chobits).

One year prior to the beginning of the story, mankind made its first contact with an alien species, when a malfunctioning alien spacecraft made an impromptu crash-landing in Tokyo Bay. The aliens on board the UFO are human-like and remarkably beautiful, and are soon affectionatly nicknamed "DearS" by their human hosts, which means "Dear friends from outer space"; as extraordinarily kind and gentle as they are lovely, the DearS are a slave race in actuality, seeming to thrive as individuals and as a species by making others happy; as they are unable to return home, the small community of DearS attempts to integrate themselves into human society, concealing their status as a slave race from the public due to concern over the fact that humanity does not agree with slavery.

It is a very cute story, and I hope this helps you out ^.^
