Well Summer vacation has started and although I already have quite a bit covered with plans lots of gaps of time still need to be filled so time to request some recommendations. Things I look for in an anime: - Preferably modern day or fantasy. Nothing too futuristic. - Characters that stick with you. I don't mind standard archetypes but I also love characters that you'll remember for ages after you watched the anime - Some comedy. I don't mind even if it's very little but I prefer to have some small form of comedy in my animes. - If action I prefer that it's not just mindless action such as Naruto/Bleach. I'll cut it short here, otherwise I'll narrow it down way too much. :P So let the suggestions come and thanks in advance.

Fate/Stay Night, it's modern day and fantasy! =P One of my favorite animes, it has the typical character types e.g tsundere etc but the character development is good and they are memorable. The story is fantastic, the anime only gives you a small slice of the huge story that is in the visual novel; but none the less the story is very well thought out and enjoyable. Go here for a summary of the story. This is my number 1 recommendation, but I have a feeling you're gonna turn around and say you've already seen this xD

Haha yes sadly. :P *points at sig* It was a great anime although I'm glad that I watched it before I played the Visual Novel. Otherwise my memory of the Anime wouldn't have been that good.

Okay then, well I recommend Clannad and Clannad After Story. Starts of as a slice of life show with a bit of comedy, then it gets a little bit supernatural (you'll see what I mean if you watch it, or if you've already seen it :P) Great romance in the show too. I just started to watch Beck and I have to say it is brilliant. It's about a band called Beck and how they struggle to become famous; highly recommended. Some other shows which I'd give 10/10 and would highly recommend are Code Geass, Death Note (well, you've probably seen that, who hasn't?) ef a tale of memories + ef a tale of melodies, Elfen Lied, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Full Metal Panic + Fumoffu + The Second Raid, Fullmetal Alchemist, Higashi No Eden (recently finished airing, an absolutely stunning show; very gripping story) Shakugna No Shana + Shakugan No Shana second, Toradora and a movie called The Sky Crawlers. All of these are, in my opinion, some of the best anime has to offer. Obviously there's loads more, just a small list for you. Each one of these shows has been so good that I watched about 10 episodes a day when I was watching them xD Hopefully theres something there you haven't seen ^^

Alright currently watching Clannad, which has been great so far and if it keeps up I'll make sure to watch After Story as well. When I finish those two I'll look into Higashi no Eden. Thanks a lot for the recommendations so far and rep has been given where deserved. Please keep the recommendations coming. :)

Okay cool. There is a Clannad movie but I recommend you watch it after you've watched both seasons. The reason is that the movie is about half of season 2 crammed into an hour and a half so if you watch it after season 1 you won't enjoy season 2 as much as you would. Also, the animation was by a different company so it looks a little...bleh. Also, I have to further my recommendation for Beck! xD (if you haven't seen it already) I only started it yesterday and I'm already on episode 16, it's so good!

@ Bobo, alright thanks. :) However I doubt I'll watch Beck, I usually can't really get into those music animes. @ Baka: Alright, thanks. :) It's been recommended to me before so I'll look into it.
