does anyone have any information about the american remake that is supposed to come out sometime next year

i love battle royale but i think the american version is gonna suck cause they will tone down the violence and destroy koushun's work. I know it can't top the original, but i would like for this version to not suck.

Sorry no i don't, but i highly recommend the manga. It is much closer to the book than what the original movie from japan was. i own all 15 Vol. of the manga.

I will say this. It will be censored to the point where blood is replaced with grape juice.

Ive read the book and i own the collector's volumes they released.

if there is going to be an american version... i bet it'll suck ass... the original japanese version is very bad ass... children voilence and nudy is banned in american movie, not like the asian... from what i know the movie battle royal and br2 is banned in america cause it is too voilence... even if it there is an american version... i bet some parents will boycott and complain about that shit before it hit the theator

the only reason battle royale is popular with americans is because it was so graphic. i doubt that an american version of the movie would cut out the violence. if anything it would be more graphic and realistic. i dunno where you guys are getting this idea that american movies are so tame. havent any of you guys seen hostel or saw or reservoir dogs? compared to those battle royale seems tame. i mean come on people did you not see kill bill or grindhouse?

btw battle royale is not banned in america. i own a copy. last time i checked there is no law against child violence in movies in america... yes there are laws about child pornography...

I am not saying that american movies are tame, but after colombine, they dont want middle school kids killing each other for our entertainment. I have seen all of the movies you have described and I love them all because I'm American. Those movies depicted grown adults killing each other in graphic fashion, but you never saw a 14 year old whip out a AK and start shooting his classmates. Parents will boycott it cause they think our American kids are so impressionable that we will have another colombine or virginia tech massacre on our hands
Battle Royale shouldnt be banned in the states cause compared to some other movies, it isnt that bad. For the sole fact that its about kids, I would think people would have a problem with it and there was a huge controversy over the graphic stuff in the movie. I dont really disagree with you, but you have to remember that "kids are precious" and you cant have them killing each other. It shows just how we really are.

lol since when does paranoid parrents boycotting a movie stop it from comming out. the same argument that always wins will win again. "it is illegal for your children to watch this movie. if your children watch this movie the responsability falls on you as a parent and not the makers of this movie."
