So we have all heard to rumors that they are making a hollywood remake of the Death Note live action movies, and you have probably heard the rumors that they are casting Zac Efron as Light Yagami. Well I have done some hunting and found an online petitions to try and stop this. Stop Zac From Being Light I have also found a petition to let Ken'ichi Matsuyama (the origional L actor) stay as L. Keep Ken'ichi As L Sure Zac may be a great actor but could he really pull off the role of Light? And who else could be L, in my opinion it is the most unique character and it would be so difficult to pull off, but Ken'ichi did it brilliently Please sign them and help stop this instanitiy of assuming that Disney actors have the intensisy to be in the Death Note movies.  |

Ten years ago I'd say Noah Taylor would have been a perfect match for Light. However keep the same actor as in the original film now.

It may be true that Ken'ichi Matsuyama is capable of being L. But if it's true that there will be a hollywood remake I don't see why he'll be playing in it. But maybe that's just my idea.

Yes I'm pretty sure the movie has ben confermed and is being made by the same people that did the hollywood remake of The Grudge, Shutter and The Ring. The cast list hasn't been confirmed yet however they have mentioned Zac Efron. And Ken'ichi Matsuyama can speak english not fluently however but I'm sure the studio would put efort in to teaching it to him and such.

i hate Hollywood remakes... why can't they be more original? Take that Korean movie, "My Sassy Girl" for instance Hollywood redid it, imo, crap. I thought that Elisha Cuthbert did a piss poor job trying to pull off the same stuff as Jun Ji-Hyun. Same with Sandra Bullock and what's his face when they remade Il-mare for English speaking audience in The Lakehouse or something. crap. The straw that finally broke the camal's back was Hollywood's remake of Hong Kong's "Infernal Affair" in "The Departed." also crap. If Hollywood does go ahead and film a remake for Death Note, i will not watch it and it'll make it onto my boycott list. |

frankly it has just been rumors nothing more nothing less until it has been confirmed.. and if it is.. then post the actual link. Alzwhatever your name is.. i don't remember 1 person who i knew when spiderman was being cast that Toby Maguire would not be a good Peter Parker, when I first heard he was doing the role, i thought he was the perfect fit. and he has proved it. Hugh Jackman was a no name in america so of course people are going to say he can't do Wolverine... and as for Robert Downey Jr. doing Iron Man.. I said that i would have to see how he does.. and he did great. but again until it has been confirmed about Death Note.. don't worry about it.. because either way with these petitions the producers are not going to listen.. they are going to use who is hot to get the young people to go see it.

Zac efron as Light? If that happens the cinema will be overcrowded by all those crazy 11-year-old highschoolmusical fangirls shouting "aaaahh," everytime he comes in the picture ¬¬' They will watch Death note just because he plays in it, is that what they want?! I really hope its a rumor
