I think the actor that played light in the original movies tanked with his drab acting but casting zac efron as light would be much worse i'm really hoping that doesn't happen because i really love deathnote and the person that originally played L really did the part well to me he's the perfect L

Leave Deathnote to the Japanese...they did a good job with what they did. Given they changed some things but what they changed made the series better.

I can't see anyone else playing the characters other than the origional, they WERE the characters.

I am better Yagami and Better L than anyone that they would use in the Death Note Movie remake!!!

The Japanese L was great, is not the perfect L but he did a great job!!

Why should they keep the Japanese actor?...If we are to stay true to the actual show shouldn't L be english?...If I remeber he wasn't Japanese or asian at all XD.

But whatever....I would like to see this made into an American Remake...I think it has potential. I mean its the kind of anime that relies on knowledge instead of crazy supah powers (and a supernatural notebook) XD. I'm pretty sure Hollywood can atleast do that.

As for who would do L...I don't know...there have been many recommendations and rumors and some of them sound pretty good. Cause if you ask me the Japanese dude who played him in the original Live action did good but it wasn't that great. I'm pretty sure other people could act just like that...

When asked about L's nationality Ohba responded saying "I think of him as a quarter Japanese, a quarter English, a quarter Russian and... maybe a quarter French or Italian?

What do u mean...not perfect...he WAS L for the movies...he acted how L would naturally act.

you have got to be kidding? i know its your opinion but seriously.. leave it ALONE america can't do nothing original they have to steal ideas for movies from asia or europe. or they just remake movies that were done 20 or more years ago.. which is fucking stupid.. pardon my language but its a bad idea.. just leave Deathnote alone.

Thats pretty much how I feel. And after seeing the god-awful Dr*gonb**l E********* (have to censor it becasue its so awful), I'm not exactly excited to see Death Note killed, although I THINK they will do a better job than DBE
