I'd rather it be directed by Dario Agento and it be a EU/Japanese co-production than let it be done by Hollywood. Case in point: The Wicker Man a fine English thriller 'butchered' by a US remake.

I wouldn't mind. I mean he can pull off the look of Light.

What I would hate is for him to put his own twist on the role. If he's true to the character, then I think its a pretty damn good match.

Vertigo has it licensed and it is due to come out in 2011
Buuut and THANKFULLY Zac Efron is contracted to Disney until he is 25!
SO NO ZAC EFRON IN DEATH NOTE REMAKE!

the movie is gonna suck just like all hollywood remakes on cartoons and animes so even with out the zac guy its still gonna blow sorry only my opinion

I mean, Death Note, DISNEY?
There are people being murdered in Death Note, so making it a Disney movie.. it just doesn't fit O.O''
